Chulalongkorn Hospital Evacuated After Stormed By Red-Shirts

Featured Replies

A free press would ask "Was it necesary to evacuate?" The hospital search was an absolute disgrace, but is evacuating a hospital for PR gains any better?

i totally agree with you. this now is getting boring reading about the hospital evacuating. everybody agrees it was wrong to enter the hospital and search for soliders.but everyone should know now its just getting a big pr gain now for the goverment.

It's "a big PR gain" as you put it BECAUSE it was necessary to evacuate the hospital.

Everyone agrees that the 2006 Coup was wrong, but everyone should know that its just getting a big PR gain for the Reds. :)

Normal people understand why patients and hospital administrators felt the need to evacuate. Only a red apologist is looking for excuses. Reds, you are making your situation WORSE by trying to blame the hospital for the crimes of your leaders.

An ignorant person might ask why the medical staff, whose biggest concern is their patients, would move all their patients when the hospital is right outside what can be termed a war zone waiting to happen after they have had their hospital stormed and were promised it would happen again as their entrance has been barricaded by a lawless mob for near a month.

What hospital was it the reds stormed in and stole corpses?

It is a HUGE PR loss for the Reds (and thus a gain for the government) but to assume that moving patients was done for PR is cynical AND contrary to common sense.

Bombs Continue to Rock Silom

The glass walls and windows of Mc Donald's at Silom Center was damaged in what authorities believe to be either a bomb or gunfire attack while a ping pong bomb was thrown at Saladaeng intersection last night.

Just off Silom Road, the red-shirt protesters have erected more barricades in front of Chulalongkorn Hospital in fear of efforts by the government to disperse the anti-government red-shirt protesters.

i heard that a Thai fast food company had paid 175million baht to the reds so their stores nationally were not damaged

i think this news eliminates McDonalds from the speculation as to which fast food company it was

i also think the fugitive red leader seen munching a big mac in there recently might get his supply cut now too.......

If the Red clan ever come to power you're going to see more not less bombings and violence. They will use their muscle to extort money from all corporations and institutions. According to Thanong they've been receiving very large "donations" of protection money already. It's warlordism.

You forgot to add that the red leaders have performed witchcraft to cause global warming and the collapse of the banking system; that they perform ritual human sacrifice on stage at Ratprasong; and that the rank and file eat live babies...

Your avatar is that of an open anti-semite.

So supporting witchcraft would be just one small step for this red cheerleader.

Why do the reds even bother posting anything but the following statements ...

We will not believe anything if it reflects badly on the red movements despite any proof offered because we know it is fake.

Anybody who disagrees with the red movement or in anyway reacts or speaks out about the red actions is clearly a yellow shirt liar.

Don't believe anything in the press because ALL the press are yellow shirts.

So Chula has said it will reopen when the reds remove their barricade to the Sarasin interesction. Over to the reds.

The reds have opened the door for the crackdown. By re-erecting the barricades in front of the hospital they are showing poor planning. Public opinion is firmly against the storming of the hospital, and by protecting the hospital Suthep and the government are playing the role of good guys. If the reds don't back down and more the blockade the army and police will have the green light to move it for them with both Thai and international people behind them.

Leave the patients at Chula and risk their further endangerment with a daily-out-of-control nearby mob.

Evacuate the patients and get accused of a PR ploy.

Damned if ya do.

Damned if ya don't.

:)

I tip my hat to an unarmed hospital administrator who tried to stand up to 100+ red-shirt invaders whilst the useless police stood chatting nearby. That took guts.

The Yellows, the gov't, the multi-colored, all the free press and everyone else in the world do not have to give the red terrorist mob a bad name. The red terrorist are doing a good job of it themselves.

You forgot the: ' we are fighting for democracy slogan". The red version of it ofcourse!

The red supporters here support their illustrious leaders such as:

Chalerm, Jakrapob, Sah Daeng, Thaksin, Somchai, Nattawut, Jatuporn, Weng, Kwanchai, Arisman! True democrcy heroes!

Even the Camorra would be jealous of such leaders!

The last gasps of a Thaksin apologist.

Yes, it was necessary. The safety of the patients could not be guaranteed. The hospital gave conditions under which it could stay open. The red leaders tried to meet these conditions, only to find they had lost support of their organization and Seh Daeng was ignoring them. When the barricades are removed, the hospital can be reopened. Suthep has told to the police to do exactly that. Now it is time to see what stuff the boys in brown are made of.

Your contention it was evacuated for "PR gains" is distasteful and disrespectful to those whose lives were endangered by the hospital raid. Did you by any chance happen to see the mother in tears on TV as her 2 day old baby in NICU was wheeled out and she was trying to use her own body to protect her child from the red thugs?

Yes, I'm sure the news channels elected to show only the most heart wrenching scenes, but this raid was a truly disgusting act by truly disgusting people. The fact that this is causing terrible PR for the red terrorists simply reflects the hideous nature of what they did.

What i find difficult to grasp in all of this, is that despite the overwhelming evidence of corruption, murder and intent to harm the Royal Household, there are foreign people on this forum who advocate the actions of the Reds. Many people have linked Thaksin (RIP) and his cronies to Maoism and Communism. Was it a coincidence the leaders of the movement chose the colour red? I try and get inside the head of others to understand fully their opinions, but you know, I just can't get there with you red apologists.

Tigs, you forgot the "overwhelming evidence" that the redshirts are responsible for global warming, and the banking crisis...that they perform ritual human sacrifice on their stage and that they eat live babies...

Tigs what we are actually talking about is zero credible evidence...only yellow propaganda...and if you read the foreign press, they don't even bother to report this propaganda, and foreign editorials from quality press are overwhelmingly positive for the democratic aims of the red shirts and not for the ugly smear tactics of the yellows....

Getting into their heads is simple, but finding any functional brain cells is another story.

Here here.

And shame on the police - complete waste of space. Good for taking bribes and nothing else. Whoever the chief of police is, he needs replacing.

Thaksin a great leader???? He certainly has set some records. He became a wealthy man through corruption and stealing from Thailand, even you red shirters don't deny that, and lost all of his wealth in a short time. How stupid is that. I wouldn't trust him to run a lemonade stand, let alone a country.

How can one of the wealthiest men in the world be broke. He certainly won't get any more money off of the mafia. They are in the business of taking money and not giving it away. He had a mandate and failed.

Why would anyone assume that the decision of health care providers in consultation with patients to relocate them away from the site of a violent protest and after an intimidating search of the building and with the protest leaders going back on their words be a ploy for propaganda purposes? Surely most people would immediately think it a sensible decision and fully support the move. In light of the seeming breakdown in command between the leaders and the militants controlling the barricade next to the hospital surely it would seem even more sensible now. There really is no need to place sick innocent people and health care workers at risk

A free press would ask "Was it necesary to evacuate?" The hospital search was an absolute disgrace, but is evacuating a hospital for PR gains any better?

How could you possibily know it was for PR gain unless you were a doctor at the hospital? You couldn't and you are not. You are desperately looking for a way to spin this whole mess around and apportion blame away from the culprits.

Right when it happened the other night I called it a red own goal.

Can only leave me guessing what's next from the paranoid seh rouge and crew...

1) Enter a school because some kid was pulling funny faces at them while holding a GI Joe

2) Searching the RBSC golf club because bill murray was seen trying to blow up rodents on the 4th hole

3) Breaking into Gaysorn plaza because they heard that the fashion police were gonna launch a crackdown on poorly dressed black and redshirts by handing out the lastest evening wear by victoria's secret free of charge

Some of the patients have spoken about their trauma.

The reds and their supporters should really be ashamed of themselves. There is nothing they could possibly say which will ever justify this act of terrorism. Patients were traumatized by the reds and their words supersede anything else.

Patcharin Srisangwal, whose mother, Wanpen, suffers from lung cancer and requires chemotherapy.

"I have never experienced an incident like this before. I believe something might happen in the near future, because the safety of the patients cannot be the only reason prompting the hospital to move all of its patients out of the compound."

Seksan Khamdaeng, 54, whose cousin was admitted on April 10 for hepatitis and had to be transferred.

"They just said they did not have a bed for me. I have to go back home and return in 17 days, which means I'll be suffering for more than two weeks."

Suwan Rattanamoung, a 45yearold freelance lawyer who has been waiting for his biopsy results and been under observation in hospital since April 12. All other hospitals refused to take on his case.

"This is my first pregnancy. I want everything to be perfect, but my tests could not be done at the hospital. Now I have to come back again on Monday."

A 35yearold woman who is eight months' pregnant with triplets.

"He was told to move to Samut Prakan Hospital. He has not even had his surgery yet."

Wanpen Kamenkarn, a 63yearold Samut Prakan resident whose husband was admitted for kidney stones.

"The patients have left the hospital in tears. Despite our knowhow, we could not help them at all. We're taught to help everyone, save every life. We want the demonstrators to step back so we can work for the benefit of the patients. We are a politically neutral organisation. Please don't disrupt our operations. If you were in their shoes, you would not have done what you did. This has hurt people who are not involved in the political struggle at all."

Supaporn Sritangsirikul, a 58yearold nurse at Chulalongkorn Hospital who joined 10 other nurses to picket yesterday morning for the redshirt protesters to stay away. She said many patients had to be turned away or transferred because of the protest, while others waiting for donated organs had lost their turn.

Sadly, there is no VS in Gaysorn Plaza James. Only La Perla. :)

There IS no spin possible on this baby.

Reds screwed the pooch and caught the clap.

I don't :D

Tigs, don't forget that during the Thaksin years, white collar curruption was rampant. That required a lot of people working in the money laundering business and boiler rooms. That has been cut off. These reds supporters are trained to lie, lie, lie and deny. It is second nature to them to lie. We are left here with these cronic liers. They want their freedom of crime back. They want complete control of the country. And without the monarchy.

Similarily, this was tried in Nepal which resulted in the 28 of the Royal Family being massacred by machine guns in 2001. That resulted in uprising of the Nepal people and backfired on them. Most of them left. They won't do this again.

They have mainly operated out of Hong Kong, Thailand and Spain. Spain has shut them out in the last two years, making it very expensive for their operations. They need Thailand back.

Try this one. 7/11 have told staff not to wear their uniforms until they get to work as red shirts have been attacking them for working for a CP company. From BKK Dan

SBK Look on the bright side,

at least all the bustiers and maillots will be safe from mob hands! :D
