After about 5000kms of riding my Singaporean Phantom last month I thought that the intake design was a major weakness. It literally gasps for air at higher power levels making a nice "turbo" sound but not going anywhere. I thought to let the engine draw air out of the left side chrome cover instead instead of going through an S duct from the underchassis (direct from external source, instead of heated air from the underseat S duct).

So I got a spare airbox cover and left chrome cover and had fun with a Bosch "submachine gun" drill. End result is that I had to richen the air-fuel mixture significantly because it ran really lean with the easier breathing intake.

What I'd like is some critique from the homeland of the Phantom, I mean, you guys probably have access to performance parts we don't and well maybe just listen to how she runs before and after my DIY mod?

%@$ no idea how to embed the thing so
