Would appreciate any information on the following if anyone could advise.

My wife and I will soon be reolcating from UK to Thailand. She is Thai and holds a full UK Driving License.

I know I will have to apply for a 1-year and take some sort of test followed by a 5-year license when it's due for renewal.

Does the same thing apply to my wife or is there different rules for Thai nationals.

Same rules, the Land Transport Department treat everyone equally BAD

Its very easy. Both of you get an international permit from the AA in the UK. Then when you get here go to your local Transport office (mine is great, but then I'm not in Pattaya or Phuket which are effectively different countries to Thailand ) and transfer the UK licence to a 1 year Thai licence. Then when the 1 year expires go back and get a 5 year. Very simple.
