Internet In Laos, Via Netsim

Featured Replies

Here in the Bangkok-Saraburi area an EDGE modem plugged into a USB port works pretty well with TRUE's NetSIM, baht 349 for 120 hours per month, post-paid program. At least so far. SLOW at 460 kbps bur better than nothing.

So, how about Laos? The regular internet connections in Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and Vang Vieng, which I've used, are fast enough. Even in Phonsavanh, at the only shop I found that really worked, the photo shop right near the post office.

But, how about outside the main towns, but still where there's cell phone service?

I usually buy an ETL SIM for my phone, get an M-Phone SIM for my wife's, that way we're pretty well covered.

How about a NetSIM? Anyone have any experience with such in Laos?
