No, ..by you with your first " big "camera ; great shot; thanks 2alex4alex I know I cannot shoot something like that with my so little Olympus TG 860 ; it's why I'm looking for a real camera not a toy, even I can shoot sometimes but rarely some beautiful things or landscapes .. 1
Popular Post Mousehound Posted June 19, 2016 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2016 I shoot BUGS ! and I am bloody good at it , well not as good as FR , but still bloody good I reckon ! No question, you are bloody good at it. Well, to be pedantic, this lovely picture is most likely of "The Gram Blue - Eurchrysops cnejus cnejus. A female. Bugs are confined to a group of beetles that have mouth parts developed for syphoning up their food. This butterfly is part of that huge group called Lycaenidae (30% of all butterflies are in this group) and more specifically one of The Blues - Polyommatinae. Whatever: this group is interesting in that many have a symbiotic relationship with ants. Ants carry the caterpillar up a tree to feed and stand guard. The ant is rewarded by sugary secretions. The ant carries the caterpillar down the tree at night time and conceal it underground in the ant nest. 6
