The Dvd Guy

Featured Replies

The guy that ran DVD stand in front of McDonald's at the night bazaar has been gone for a over a month. Last month the lady with a stall next to his told me he would be back soon. Tonight when I went by she said he wouldn't be back. Anyone know where he went or where to get a similar price?

All six or eight people in the Night Bazaar all work for the same people. You never are really striking some deal with 'your special guy.' The deal is that one or two of the sub-vendors might be giving you a break 'cause you're a regular. But walking from one to the other, is just going to another branch of the same store with many outlets.

We'll see if a certain friendly someone (Kiwi) with the inside scoop doesn't chime in on the correctness of my understanding.

I didn't see ANY of them the other night at the NB and the Thapae gate Walking Street guy has vanished for 1 month as well. the Thais have announced a crackdown on this stuff. Perhaps it is a pretty strict one?

The 'pantip plaza pirate shops' were up and running a couple of days ago....business as usual there!!

I am sure they still sell some but the fake DVD business must be in a steady decline, being as it is that you can just download any of this stuff...

Yup. What's the point of having something on a piece of shiny plastic, and in last-century resolution at that.

Discussing where to buy pirated goods is against our forum policy.
