Truck hits train at level crossing in South Pattaya

PATTAYA: -- On Monday, Banglamung Police were informed of an accident which had occurred at the train track located close to the Tamsamakee Temple in South Pattaya. Rescue Services were also sent to the scene; however no injuries had been reported. The collision involved a train and a truck with crane, which had been driven by Khun Somsak aged 50. His wife, Khun Duangeow aged 46 was also in the cab at the time of the collision. At this particular level crossing, no barriers have been installed and the truck driver claimed not to have seen the flashing orange lights warning motorists of an approaching train.

If the truck driver don't observe the warning lights...how can he not be responsible?

"He wasn't observant enough and caused the incident, so we call it accidental." Gnnnh!

Hey c'mon, the guy has only two hands, and he needs one for the cigarette and one for the phone and ... oops!

There is one Train coming a Day from Bangkok, the chance to hit that one is a little bit like winning the Lottery, just the outcome doesn't makes you as happy.

There may only be one passenger train in each direction, and that only operates Mondays to Fridays, but when I lived near the line there were also several daily freight trains in addition to this.
