probably the most simplistic, but most catchy guitar rift ever written.

And while we're on the subject of tropical paradises grab your beach chair and your margarita and lay back with Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville" and "Changes In Latitudes, Changes In Attitudes."

I've always enjoyed the "Mexican" sound and Margaritaville was classic. I've been to more than a few Margaritavilles in my day: one in Angeles City in the Philippines, one in Mexico and one on Grand Cayman Island

two favorites from the cure.

Excellent choices, tigerfish. I'll add a third.

. . . and a fourth, In Between Days, the extended version.

Colourful. I take it you enjoyed the soca and calypso, too? Love the island sounds. B) Perez Prado's "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White" might have been a stretch for this forum  but it is without a doubt a timeless classic. Must add some more raggae, though.

Bronski Beat's 1984 "Age of Consent" LP was an all-a-round classic. Hard to choose but I'll go with "Tell Me Why" and "Love And Money."

Are you lurking, endure? :D

two from the mode.

slightly harder and darker sound compared to the early years.

still classics though!

Elvis Costello & The Attractions. This guy wrote so much great material it's hard to decide what to play first. "Peace, Love & Understanding," originally credited and appearing on a Nick Lowe B-side and later added to Costello's 1979 "Armed Forces" LP. Apologies, but this was the best I could find on YouTube, which gets cut short at the end.

And one more selection from too many to choose from, "(I Don't Want to Go to) Chelsea" from their 1978 LP "This Year's Model."

Where are you posting from, tigerfish? I'm in the States and a number of your selections are blocked here due to copyright. :( No matter, I find them here. Nice postings, though. :jap:

im out in the LOS tippaporn.

yes i often come up against the problem of some tracks being blocked, mostly by companies like EMI. theres always a way round it though!

i just try punching in things like album names, live concerts, original video or something like that. usually then there will be a clip thats close to what i am after and other choices that will get me to what i am looking for in the end. bit of a long winded way of doing things, but long gone are the days when the big corporate organisations can dictate what and how you get to listen to something.

Eine Kleine Nachtmusic

"A Little Night Music", as foreign languages aren't allowed on Thai Visa..........;)

Aber wir sind in Bedlam, OnkelKen. Alles ist möglich hier.

One of my favourite composers, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. 1812 Overture. Enjoy!

And more . . . Swan Lake - Лебединое Озеро

I hear you. Anyway, I think this is a great thread. I usually open a 2nd TV window and listen to the tunes here whilst browsing the rest of the forum. The musical version of ThaiVisa! 55555555555!!

Keep up the posting. You, too, OnkelKen. B)

underrated group of lads from the u.k. who keep on churning them out. could of gone with any number of track including some less well known and not so obvious songs like "tijuana lady" and "here comes the breeze". so went with these two instead.
