Timeless Tunes

Featured Replies

excellent selection, lanna...I still remember their smiling faces on the Blind Faith album cover 40 years ago: Winwood, Clapton, GINGER BAKER and I can't remember who the bassist was...Jim Capaldi?

the applause after Mr Fantasy (first recorded when Stevie was with Traffic late 60s) said it all...those dudes are timeless...

The bassist was Ric Grech, tutsi. He also played with Traffic.

Heading South.

This guy just keeps going on, still one of the strongest songwriters/performers around.

Try to get this one out of your head:

Well at least it has replaced this one that was stuck in my head all day yesterday..........

Try to get this one out of your head:

Leo Sayers did a cover in the early 80s...the trendy music critics ridiculed it but they were fulla shit, nice song and yeah, ye can't get it outta yer heid...

ALL, good stuff.

My sorta music mostly.

Below is a link to one of the best pieces of sound engineering.

This is a video of street singers from around the world being recorded, overlayed and mixed with one another while singing the song "Stand By Me".

It is a marvel to listen to and watch.

They all deserve to be heard.

The finished product is tremendous!

So turn up the speaker volume and enjoy sumfin a bit different

Yes, I listened to both versions before I decided to go with the (presumably) original by Bobby V.

Although not technically enhanced the music and singing were better imho.

OK Ken, by bringing the thread down with that last one you asked for it! <_<

Sorry OldCroc, I changed my mind at the last moment.......

... I was going to play the "Bob the Builder" version...........

Mambo no. 5 is not accepted in my country.

But its rattling around my brain.

My big sister lost her virginity listening to this song...

Me, it was Stairway to Heaven ... :o

hadn't seen this one on this thread, pats...I was living near Hermosa Beach at the time recently returned from Bolivia and Nashville and was re-acclimatising...everyone in the water had these short boards that I'd never seen before and everything was new...surfers on acid...weird...

check out Clapton and Jack Bruce with Gibson double cut-aways...did Clapton record the original Sunshine of your love with a Gibson?

1968 and the US was cranking up the involvement in Vietnam...forget the lyrics as there was otherwise something urgent about this song...Ginger Baker whaling on the tom toms...

So, i found, this little video of bruce. He was nice.

Im trying to be good.

I know the words inside out,

ENJOY

Not bad looking... Is that a slight red hed in there.
