Another classic from a 60's San Fran band that you won't likely hear on radio anymore these days.

Matty Groves from Fairport Convention's Liege & Lief. Stunningly beautiful album.

The heavenly voice of Sandy Denny in an absolute classic.

Jethro Tull at their best. This one off of the Stand Up LP, circa 1969.

Benefit was another now forgotten classic.

Anyone remember Hawkwind? Space Is Deep, off the Space Ritual double LP.

More incredible lyricists. Poetry sung. The Incredible String Band, these off their Wee Tam album circa 1968. I still listen to this album.

Just curious, does anyone remember an Irish band from Belfast named Chimera? They were active from 1990~1997 and were comparable in style to the Sundays and the Cranberries. I picked up a CD sampler for $1 once back in '96. Chimera had a couple of tunes on it that I liked a lot. I scoured the record shops and was able to find their only U.S. released CD, Earth Loop, that contained these songs. As my string of luck continued about 3 months afterwards they attempted some U.S. recognition and traveled stateside for a tour. I found out less than a week in advance of their show at a small club in Chicago where they played with the Sneaker Pimps. Awesome show - close and personal!

Anyways, would love to find their earlier two recordings, Lughnasa (1993 - U.K. only) & Day Star EP (1995). If anyone by chance has them I would love to get copies. Perhaps my luck on this is still running strong.

time to wake this lot up smokie!

otherwise i feel my my index finger getting an urge to move towards that little red button at the bottom of the page. laugh.gif

I could play all day on the 90's theme. Fantastic era for music.

Val to me will always be Browneyed Girl. (For some reason B) )

VM has had a far reaching effect on many.

My first time in this thread, so I had to start at the begining.....Hey Blinky, when you intoduced Maggie and Rita,...... and then Lizzie, about whom you added that you had tried and failed....can I infer that you didn't fail with Maggie and Rita?

Actually, I was first inspired to reply because I enjoyed your production. Very cool.

Excellent thread....it's taking too much time to go through the whole lot though....I will do it piecemeal.

Just a couple of comments so far....Black Box...yeah, timeless, and I had never seen the video....hearing and seeing her....Strong in spirit and voice....and with a body....By God that woman turns me on!!!!

I agree with quite a few that I've seen so far....The Doors springs to mind...and Thin Lizzy...and Dexy's Midnight Runners....so many.

I'm not sure if I could add to the list (particularly since I have only browsed 3 pages out of 9)...

I bet this one hasn't been mentioned yet....not that I like it particularly, but I reckon it will be timeless...

God yes. An incredibly sexy woman.

I don't know if it's been done yet....

Joni's good, but I like the Counting Crows cover.....

This will be sung at parties and pubs by my grandkids, I'm sure.....

and probably this too....

a couple more to take you back to the late 80s/ early 90s
