Russian Stabbed in Attempted Drive-by Necklace Snatch

PATTAYA: -- A Russian man has been injured in an attack by two youths in Pattaya early on Sunday morning. The man was assaulted after the youths unsuccessfully attempted a drive-by necklace snatch on his wife.

Allegedly, the two youths, aged between 18-25 years of age, attempted to snatch the necklace of Miss Pobtolenko while driving past the couple on a black/white motorbike. The pair were unsuccessful in their attempts to snatch the necklace as Mr. Tyrev had anticipated the event, pulling his wife away from the attack and grabbing at the offenders.

During the ensuing struggle with the still moving motorbike, Mr. Tyrev was stabbed in the shoulder and back, before falling to the ground. The offenders allegedly then viciously stomped on him, resulting in further injury to his ear and a cut to the head. Miss Pobtolenko received a torn shirt in the initial robbery attempt.

These things never happen to me in Pattaya. I think I'll stick with the Cheap Charlie fashions.

Big mistake by the robbers; methinks the Russian man will ask his friends for help ermm.gif

Oh yeah, like he knows who or where they are.

I don't get it with these young Thai guys. Attack in gangs and then beat the heck out of somebody. Wimps. Pretty sad...

Yeah I agree...those Ruskies pissing around Pattaya on motos are so well connected. I mean, they're practically oligarchs

Not smart wearing gold here

But my hats off to fighting back! :jap: i hope he got a few good strikes in

Yeah...a really smart move grabbing at a still moving motobike and possibly causing serious injury or death to himself, his wife, or innocent bystanders!

But at least he didn't back down from a fight [oh he's so manly] and maybe got "a few good strikes in." Give me a break :realangry:

I think its a good thing he fought back.. come one you could just give your money away right then and there. Not sure i would do the same because knife against fist is not really fair.

Gold is ugly though, who wears it intentionally? Yep, low profile helps you a lot, or good boots to kick them off the lane!

Busted! You can't fool the members here, so don't even try! I was trying to say this ain't the place to walk around with bling.

I never go to Pattaya, (haven't been there in 2 years) but i always wear my golden necklace. I got it from my parents when i was 16 and passed some exams. I never take it off, it is however 18 karat gold so its a bit hard to snatch its quite strong. I also don't wear it over my clothes but under. I wonder how safe i would be in Pattaya.
