Solar Air will begin Bangkok <> Roi Et flight service on 15 Aug 2010 with four flights a week.

This is fantastic news.

Although a little pricey it will still beat a 3 hour drive from Khon Kean.

I have checked the Solar Air site that you linked to but it is all in Thai.

Good question. I tried calling their main ticketing hotline 02-973-3861 (at around 2pm) and there was no answer.

I also tried the 02-535-2448, 02-535-2449 and 081-989-0556 (Roi Et local) numbers listed on the bottom of their home page and couldn't get through on any of those lines either. My guess is that their customer service is not operational yet.

I was able to call the Roi Et Airport at 043-518-246... perhaps they would have more info.

When I used to fly with PBAir we always booked the tickets at a local travel agency in Roi Et... they would probably be your best bet (assuming your in the Roi Et area when you need to book the ticket).

My wife just wanted to call the airline for info because online booking is not possible yet.

After checking the website they delayed the opening date for flights to Roi Et from August 15 to October 1st.

Don't hold your breath on this one. I was checking out their web site, Thai only translation in google. They do have an advert to click on for "Pilot Training Course" nothing come up. Another advert for "List of Students" nothing there either. Kind of reminds me of One Two Crash.
