And often even if you leave them a good tip they don't show much in the way of appreciation. I often get more appreciation for a 20 baht tip in Thailand that I do for $20 tip in the US. -

Trump says he’s negotiated 200 trade deals — but won’t say with whom

I can't even open a bank account in Thailand but yet I'm expected to pay Thai tax?
@Rolo89 A Tip: next time you walk into a bank, don't ask about opening a bank account. Instead, ask about opening a savings account. It may sound strange, but in Thai banking lingo, most times a bank employee hears "bank account" he jumps to the conclusion that you mean a current account. -

Tipping
I always tip the waitress or waiter at a restaurant even if it's 20 or 40 Baht, they certainly appreciate it, and they oftentimes show their appreciation. I tip when I get my haircut, I tip Panda drivers and I tip taxi drivers if they're doing a good job and are polite and personable. A small tip goes a long way here and the local people could sure use the help, so why not?
