My Oh My I Caught One And He Is In The Gay Forum

Did you ever want to meet one of those people who write with words no one understands? Did you ever want to meet one who always uses the same arguments to define almost everything.

All the hours I spent listening to tenured professors drone on in words none of the students understood about ideas not one of them had any use for.

Well I finally caught one and it wasn't even my thread. I wasn't trolling. The credit goes to another. But before it is gone. You all should take a look.

Unfortunately I have to go to sleep now but I will work on a response. It is like being an undergraduate all over again. The smirk comes to my lips. The challenge is on the table. Can I suck him in? Can I play him. Let him think he is winning and then get out the net.

Any other anglers who would like to join, feel free. That's why the internet is more fun than solitary fishing.

Check out member zzaa09. He also "sounds" like he swallowed a thesaurus. I really doubt if he talks like he writes. It seems like he is doing it for a laugh, but I am still not 100% sure.

I had a Uni professor that spoke that way. He was awful. Of course, he was well loved by the posers who thought his pronouncements were full of wisdom rather than pomposity. His most well worn phrase was "To put it yet another way" because he had to use as many obscure words as possible in as many differing combinations as possible in order to not get his obscure point across.

I especially liked the ones who made up their own words and expected the students to know what they were. Trade jargon is one thing and sometimes a group of sailors when talking about a race sound like they are from another planet but I can understand that.

Sociology seems to attract the lunatic academic fringe more than most disciplines.

UG is correct zzaa09 has an odd vocabulary and sometimes he is trying to sound profound but I really like all those photos he is posting.

I always thought that a really intelligent physicist could explain relativity to a 7 year old.

Anyone can explain relativity to a seven-year-old.

The trick is - to get the seven-year-old to understand it. Or even listen. :whistling:

One of my daughters was in a school for special children, daughter used to say, “kids with big brains.”

Funny, though they pulled the teachers from the regular school system.

The kids used to win all the state math contests and everything else academic. No sports at the school only academic subjects. The school was from grade 1 through 12.

I went to PTA meetings for 12 years. The kids were always brighter than the teachers. Which made for odd meetings.

The relativity question was asked to me a couple of times because the physics teacher could not adequately explain it to his students.

The children were funny kids. They all spoke at least three languages by 3rd grade and would communicate in a language the home room teacher did not understand just to mess with the teacher. They also had a lot of Chinese and Japanese students who taught their friends Chinese and Japanese, two languages not offered by the school just to mess with the language teachers.

I learned very early not to argue with my daughter... unless I had all my ducks in order. At 6 years old she could beat any of us at games that needed memory and concentration. Today, I just phone her up for advice on how to do things (other than fishing).

Teaching is a LOT more than just having good knowledge of a subject. In my day back in the dark ages the teachers were mostly poor at getting their point across. I can only remember maybe one or two that could actually communicate with the students and inspire them to learn. I think teachers are much better today, but a lot depends on the location and the children's backgrounds.

I have little doubt that Gaccha and zzaa went to special schools for gifted children....it's probably why marky has difficulty understanding them.

I understand zzaa very well. Never said I didn’t. Gaccha, I don’t know. He uses words that his audience can’t possibly understand. It is one thing if you are teaching a graduate course in obscure sociological theories and another posting on a public forum. He reminds me of the people who make up words.

I’ve taught courses on a graduate level in America to people who all had at least a BA. I have also taught disadvantaged minorities most of whom never graduated from high school. I didn’t use the same vocabulary.

My take on Gaccha is he is a frustrated grad assistant who ended up teaching English in Bangkok.

I realize you didn’t want an answer and your post was a simple attempt to slander me. But I thought I would explain it anyway.

At least they actually know how to use the words they copy from the thesaurus correctly. Harcourt has some difficulties in that regard. :D

I have a colleague who can talk for an hour without telling anything, is it the same?

It's hilarious sometimes when I cut him short his reaction is like, um um yes you're right that's basically what I was trying to explain....

In the early 70s I attended an event at U.C.L.A. hosted by Rod Serling of Twilight Zone fame. It was fascinating to listen to him lecture about writing for television. I jotted down so many words that were completely foreign to me however, in this case, it served to enhance his creative character. It was natural for him. He wasn't attempting to be obtuse. He was a master of advanced communication. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I did some digging and the guy is apparently an English teacher. He never tried to engage me in a dialog. He is only a hit and run poster and I guess not into discussion. Some of his words from his latest post that I read on how he overrides his feelings of disgust for necrophilia using some of the below expressions.

I conceptualise, bio-programmed, aprticularly,

conflated, false post hoc positioning to justify a visceral response.

I understand zzaa very well. Never said I didn’t.

zzaa is a farang by nature but an Asian in every other way. Banned from many other farang forums and I do agree he does use a very unusual range of words. Some seem very dated and some, I must admit, I have never heard spoken by any other. . I too enjoy his photo's very much

I always thought that a really intelligent physicist could explain relativity to a 7 year old.

Einstein thought that too. Funny old world. B)

Regards.
