Le Meridien Phuket to reopen on Aug 15

PHUKET: -- Le Méridien Phuket Beach Resort is re-opening on Aug 15, eight months after it was damaged in the tsunami disaster last December, with a special re-opening rate starting from US$95++ (RM361++).

"We are back in business and more beautiful than ever - the hotel looks fantastic. We have spent a number of months preparing for the opening and I'm sure that all our visitors will be delighted with the fresh new look that we have given to this fabulous hotel," said Philippe Seigle, regional general manager, Le Méridien Phuket.

"During the closure we have been able to undertake several refurbishment projects that would normally not be possible in a functioning hotel.

"This is one of the best hotels in Asia and considered a second home by thousands of families and repeat guests. I can assure them that their favourite paradise in Phuket is back and it is better than ever," he said.

"There is a new feel to the resort but the same excellent service standards will remain. We have supported our 700 staff throughout this closure period and are delighted to be working again as one team serving our guests," he said.

Seigle said all facilities would be operational from Aug 15, except for Le Spa, which was being extended and undergoing refurbishment and would open at the beginning of October.

The hotel is five minutes to Patong Beach, 30 minutes to Phuket town and 45 minutes from Phuket International Airport.

The resort features 470 rooms and suites and its own secluded beach, lush gardens and coconut groves occupying 40 acres that nestle beside the sparkling Andaman Sea.
