Don't stress yourself now SC......first time for me. Good tune.

Cheers, boss!

Rumours, I think it was. we lived just round a couple of corners from there and we shared a part-time job after the factory; we'd meet up in Rumours after work on a Sunday night for a few pints, and whoever had been working that weekend would fall asleep - oh happy days!

The trip to the Fulham Greyhound was a story in its own right that I'm in no position to relate - you'll need to ask Wee Andy about that night...

Let's see if I can figure out this youtube thing...

Styngrite!.

\

No - obviously not; I'm going to have to take instruction...

Anyway, I firstr saw the Styngrites support King Kurt in Rumours, but the best gig - apart from the Potterrow, where we had to turn away Big Lester, was when we happened into the President's Wacky Birthday Party at Dundee Union

SC

I was at Dundee....many drunken nights in Pete's Bar.....free beer chits aplenty....

Can't imagine anything as creative coming out of Greenock these days even given there's way more drugs there now I'd wager.

PS. Just a thought for those "oldies" who are blaming blandness and mediocrity for not remembering music from the 80s....when dementia starts to set in, it's the most recent memories which are lost first. One day you'll think Ba Ba Black Sheep and Humpty Dumpty are cool !! :P

OK, so my post is empty...I know that, d'oh !

Pots and kettles...?

I know, I should learn multi-quoting, but dogs and tricks, eh?

EDIT: to try and improve clarity...

When you figure out multiquoting please be kind enough to return the favour. I'm baffled and amazed by thiese feats of genius.....

When was the Greyhound pulled down?

I used to go there in the sixties, then when I went for a job interview at the beginning of the nineties the girl told me over the phone that it was in FP Road, so I asked her where it was in relation to the Greyhound. She didn't know the Greyhound. So I asked here where it was in relation to Mancini's Sports shop. She didn't know Mancini's either. So I said never mind and found her office very easily - brand new building right where the Greyhound used to be.

Asked the people there how long the building had been there - no one knew. All assumed it was built when London was built, I reckon - like it was all plopped down there as a finished city yonks ago and has stayed the same ever since.

Had one of the Mancini brothers as a PI in the RAF. Just as hard and mean as the rest of the tribe.

I didn't know it was gone...I'm sure I left it just where I found it...

I would remind you that Bros were a householdhold name when they were famous - depends when you had your 'formative years'.

Exactly my point - they were known for a year or two when the publicists needed to sell the product - then back to obscurity.

One of the Bros brothers is ina new film out at the moment. I think it was called Tekken. Not bad either.

I knew I'd get jumped on for that. But that's another sign of "oldies"; they get very picky and take great pleasure in the misfortunes of others (to divert attention from themselves I suppose).

All you cranky old bastards: go have a glass of warm milk and a lie down. :P
