I have two Seagate external disks, each with an autorun.inf file, empty BTW

Everytime I mount the disk my Avira antivirus objects to the file.

I have tried deleting the file and it seems to disappear

then a few minutes later Avira is objecting again and the file is back.

All very iritating.

How to get rid of the damned thing,

or alternatively tell Avira to ignore it.

A possible sign of infection... Autorun.inf should not be created by any process unless you put it there. Even if your system is 'clean', I suggest you disable Autorun anyway since it's often used as an attack vector for malware.
