Yes, Kan Win, I have been there.

On the whole I found it pretty tame. It killed a half hour or so, but I have to say I've seen a lot better. The aquarium in Jakarta for example is about, say, 5 times the size of the one in Phuket and a lot more interesting. Although I have to say, I felt a bit sorry for the huge fish stuck in those tanks, (in Jakarta I mean).

It's great to see these creatures up close, but if I had my way, there would be no zoos or aquariums.

Yeah couldnt agree more. I went on the day it opened as it was free. It killed exactly half an hour. I was interested to see what they had been doing for the 2 years it had been closed. It s nice and clean and i guess they have done their best, which might be fine for Thai residents. Its a bit small really. Plus i believe they do the illegal and outrageous double pricing for farangs/thais.

I also would prefer to see the fish be released. I managed to block a trip my school planned to the zoo and the aquarium.

They do, but, if you have a Thai social security card, you can get in for the Thai price. I went a few weeks ago with a friend and our children, 6 kids in all, and we all got in for the Thai price on the strength of my ss card.
