What is reasonable to you might not be to someone else/ How much do you want to spend? Remember HIGH season started Nov.1st. Check out this tread.

I want to spend under 2k for 1 night. I have no problems with a bit of travelling as i am taking my car, so 20 kilometers wold be ok. I would just prefer not to get up too early

I can recommend San Sabai House in the center, wholeheartedly (http://maps.google.c...77171,102.09126). A room with A/C costs you about THB 450 per night, without THB 350 (as far as I can remember). The hotel, at that rate, would be considered budget, but it is absolutely clean, rooms are equipped with basic furniture, but you also get TV, ceiling fan, a small balcony, free water, free and secure parking in the back, etc. The only drawback in my mind is that they do not have an elevator, so if they check you in on the fourth floor it is a bit of a haul. You are in the center of town and about a 20 min car ride away from the zoo. The hotel's website (http://www.sansabai-...om/en/index.htm) is "budget" too, and it does not quite do them justice. They are better than what it looks. I would call ahead, though, because it is busy right now.

At the other end of the spectrum you have a very nice hotel in the Dusit Princess which I would consider the best hotel in Korat. But their room rates may be above your budget.

Have a look at the Korat Resort Hotel. Its just along the road from the Zoo.

I've never been there but it looks really nice from the road.

Also may I suggest a trip to the korat Fossil Museum which is also a stones throw from the Zoo and is really worth a look. They have a dinosaur museum there as well.

I have stayed at Korat Resort several times and can thoroughly recommend it. Ideal for families. 2 swimming pools, and just up/down the road from the zoo and water park. In the opposite direction, Dan Kwian Pottery village is less than 10 minutes away.

Normal rooms at the resort are 1000bt, with huge corner rooms at 1300bt - big enough for the family and the extended family too! Good restaurant too
