Cambodian Speaking Psychiatrist

Featured Replies

Anyone know of a psychiatrist who speaks Khmer (Cambodian)? Need it for a Cambodian boy who does not speak English or Thai. Thought maybe a Thai doc from Isaan might speak Khmer. Please advise, thanks (boy is delusional, needs MD not counsellor)

I would try the hospital in Kab Choeng as a starting place. Most people speak Khmer there, and if they can't help then I am sure they can tell you who can. There used to be a big refugee camp near there.

I am sorry I don't know the phone number of the Hospital there.

If you have difficulty finding it, its 32km south on Hwy 214 from Prasat.

Good luck.

Thanks, I'm familiar with Kab Choeng Hospital as I used to work at the refugee camp nearby. However it is a government district hospital and these have only G.P.s, no specialists. Anyone knopw if Surin Provincial Hospital has psychiatrists on staff? Or of any Isaan native shrinks now working in Bangkok? Thanks
