Former Monk caught shoplifting at Pattaya 7-Eleven store

PATTAYA: A former monk was arrested on a charge of shoplifting at a 7-Eleven Convenience Store on the Sukumvit Road on the outskirts of Pattaya on Thursday Afternoon. Police made their way to the shop after staff had detained Khun Tip aged 36 who attempted to leave the shop with items including body spray and various food items and made no attempt to pay for them.

What was the point of that reference ? That he should still behave like the monk he once was, or what ?
