4000 Baht To Replace Acer Screen..

Featured Replies

LG LCD 18" external screen is 3000 baht.

Acer replacement is 4000 baht

Should I not just buy the former as its more of a bargain.....?

Would the mouse pad speed or anything else be affected....

For the sake of 1000 Baht why not keep it original? What would it be worth if you ever decide to sell it?

No, it would not be affected.

Not sure the model number but go to any I.T CITY, they;ve got loads.

Does Thailand have January sales by the way...?

No January sales but if you only use the unit at home the external screen would make sense to me and easier to view.

4000 to replace a broken laptop screen isn't all that much IMO.

Hey, it was 20,000 on my MacBook Pro if it makes you feel any better

If you always use it at home anyway, and you are not going to sell the laptop, then sure, the external is a better deal, cheaper, better (presumably), and bigger. No you won't have issues with the mouse, or anything else.

Now, do you have to buy a LG screen or an Accer screen?

Let me ask you a question. Do you have an external monitor port on your computer, if yes. You can buy any brand of monitor you want, but 3000 or 4000 for a monitor is not that expensive. Check out a Samsung 17 inch monitor at any computer store. I found mine for 2500 THB.

I'm not really sure if I have the correct port for an externla monitor as I dont know what to look for. I'd guess I do though...

Seems a reasonable price to me.Acer Thailand wanted 15,000 baht for a new screen on my Aspire.Luckily or not,I managed to acquire one from Pantip Plaza for 7000.

You do. It is the VGA port. Most monitors can connect to that type of port.

Had a similar problem with my Acer laptop, they replaced the screen under warranty within an hour or two.

If you buy the external screen you loose the portability of the machine,

an essential element in my book.

By way of comparison, a new battery and a fix on the charging circuit

cost me around B4000.
