I have 2008 Honda Jazz with 17,000 km on it. A couple of days ago one of the front tires split and must be replaced. Do you think it will make any difference having one new tire and the other with 17,000 km on it? Or should I replace both?

Assuming you have a 'real' spare (not one of those silly compact things) and it's unused, just put the 17k tyre in the boot, you'll have two new tyres then :)

Or move both tyres from the back to the front and have the odd pair on the rear.

In reality, it won't make a great deal of difference provided both tyres have the same tread pattern.

I agree with crossy. I was always told that it's good safe practice to replace tyres in pairs.

You also need to make sure that your wheels are properly tracked to prevent uneven wear, and of course make sure that each wheel is balanced for the same reason.

Of course the Jazz is FWD so make sure the best tyres are on the front!
