Yeah happy new year Humphrey, I might go into Chiang Rai tonight with my trusty Canon and record the locals at play.

(Don't worry about the Canon jokes, they've all been made in the local forum).

Happy New Year :)

I shall start out in Saigon at the Wild Horse, for a leg of lamb dinner, then tour the various bars close to Ham Nghie and Nguyen Hue (Ginger 60, Secrets, Chili Pub, Voodoo, Red Drum, No 5, Mogambo, Moon Bar and others, in no particular order) until the fireworks start, then retire to a comfortable viewing position and watch the pretty show.

I spent ten days in Saigon over Chinese New Year back in 2004.

They certainly know how to put on a party.

That's at the end of January next year. So I'm taking a week off in January, to be well rested.

Chuc Mung Nam Moi (in the vernacular)

or

Kung Hai Fat Choi (if in HK)

(But I prefer Boaters card)

I've not seen any of them playing for St Kilda?

But then with those colours they're probably Swannies.

I doubt there's one over five foot six tall.

Not much room in footy sides for Tony Libertore size players any more.

I had opened a can of Dennison's chili which I was was enjoying with a bag of Tostitos tortilla chips and a jar of salsa and then crashed and woke up at 0030hrs to find that I had missed the fireworks display which I can usually see from my 3rd floor balcony at the hotel near the Westlake area in Hanoi...

I had just come in the previous pm from BKK after a pleasant visit with the family in Suphan and obtaining a new retirement extension...only marred by my little niece throwing a fit the previous day when she realised I had to travel soon to go back to work and she then sat next to me in the tutsimobile silent and disapproving on the way to the airport rejecting my feeble attempts to console her...that girl she's only 8 y/o and already has got all the moves to reduce her uncle to jelly...:(

happy new year to all at TV and thanks for putting up with my ravings for another year...computer keyboards and alcohol don't mix but I hope that I've been able to entertain...

humph, just saw Rainer on my return to the provinces and he extended a hearty new year's greeting...things look good for our continued association on this job...

all the best in the new year...

And to you Toots, your posts are are always a work of art and should be an inspiration to new arrivals. :)

I like to flex my muscles occasionally and stand up for my right not to post... B)

I remember an angry racist Dutch bloke, a Buddhist Dutch bloke and a friendly Russian hells angel. What on Earth was I doing last night?

Yea, I got rid of one Rainer, only to get another in his place. And this one is an idiot.

We did first fire and synchronised the first GTG over Christmas, now I'm building up the claims against everyone. Will be a very enjoyable New Year for me - not for the rest :D

Prince Rainier of Pattaya, and GTG is code for Good Thai Girl so it's sounds like they found one in Pattaya and are trying to keep it secret.

Prince ....Rainier??

Ha ha - neither one could be considered a prince.

Remember OC's from OZ. He knows all about this subject, chap on the news clearly said " The picture is, it's Rainier in Queensland this year". So he has been there, OC's seen him.

:) You're a clever one. I never agreed with the old adage that pun is the cheapest form of humour.
