Ok To Fly One Way?

Featured Replies

Looking at flight prices, 1 way to UK and then 1 way UK to BKK they are cheaper. If I get my Non O (as was for visiting friends and family - but now changed rules) will I be able to fly 1 way from UK to Thailand with no hassle?

No problem. Although some employees of the airline company have no idea how the visa rules are in Thailand as they mostly handle tourist.

Their only concern is that they have to fly you back when you are not allowed in the country, you might need to sign a waiver.

Having flown into Thailand around 40 times on 1 way (or return) tickets, my experience is that airline staff all over the world have clear instructions of what to look for visa-wise, never needed to sign a waiver.

If you have any type of visa you can fly one way with no problems.

As said if you have a Visa it will be no problem.

I am, however, surprised that you can find two one way tickets at a cheaper price than a return ticket. Which airline(s) and what time of year are you looking at?

Thanks for the replies. They do help.

Cheaper?

1 way to the UK coming in around £272 inc taxes with Air Asia. Slightly less with Air India and Aeroflot. Coming back the cost is about £300. All avoiding those dreaded school holiday times and that royal wedding ;) All in April.

I do see odd bargains. Considering the return fares, many near the £650 to 700+ mark and being able to fly back when I am ready, makes this a lot more sensible and I do not have to fly Air india or Aeroflot at those prices. I am on e-mail alerts too for cheaper fares from various sites. When? Go in February and hopefully come back before the Easter hols and the royal wedding.

Add to the whole scenario that I want to see my own UK doctor, a specialist and my own dentist, it seems to make a lot more sense to do it this way. Another factor is being able to gauge what I do for 2012 regarding times for flights if I have the 15 month option on my Non O. I can see prices jumping for flights to the UK around the Olympics and I'd expect the same for rail fares.
