THE METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT HAS ISSUED A WARNING TO PEOPLE IN THE NORTHEAST TO BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR FLOODS

The Meteorological Department has warned Thailand's Northeast provinces of flash floods, as they will be affected by a depression over the South China Sea.

The Meteorology Department Director-General, Supharerk Tansrirattanawong (ศุภฤกษ์ ตันศรีรัตนวงษ์), commented about a depression over the South China Sea at 13:00 hrs, which had an epicentre located roughly 400 kilometres West of the Coast of Vietnam, or latitude 13.0 degrees north and longitude 113.0 degrees east.

The maximum wind velocity near its centre is some 50 km/hr.

Heavy rain is expected for the next few days in Thailand's Northeast and North. Nevertheless, the rainfall will help alleviate the drought in these regions.

People in Ubon Ratchathani (อุบลราชธานี) Amnat Charoen (อำนาจเจริญ), Nakhon Phanom (นครพนน), Mukdahan (มุกดาหาร), Surin (สุรินทร์), Si Sa Ket (ศรีษะเกษ) and Chanthaburi (จันทบุรี) are being warned to be on the lookout for flash floods, forest floods, and overflowing of waterways.

Beautiful and sunny this morning, the calm before the storm?

Judging the past few hours I think it has finally made Udon, anyone got any recent neat weather charts or satelite images?

I will do just that, by the way your telephonic weather warning was adhered to well, first drops hit in Nong Kia we were on our way to Udon beat the real rain by at least an hour.

The Thia guys and the wifey was wondering what I was doing, they are going to have a tough ride back, been raining for about three hours now. The wifey wanted the third long boat race in as many weeks, but has now calmed and is grateful we are home LOL

Been raining for 17 hours now and just starting to ease off.Not super heavy but persistent.
