Pattaya A-Go-Go Staff Beat Up Foreign And Hi-So Customers

They do stuff like this because they know the police will not take action other than writing down the report.

Zero consequences in Pattaya.

Must agree with your post, I doubt this will ever reach a court of law, and I use the term loosely. However what goes down in that dump of a town should not really shock anyone.

What ? You mean people who enjoy waching sex slaves having to humiliate themselves for a couple of dollars and a life of mistreatments and misery, get beaten up?

What is really surprising to me, is that they dare to complain and that people do feel compassionate about this.

FYI in Sweeden prostitution customers are getting criminalized and IMO so should customers of GOGO Bars.

99% of prostitutes are non-consent forced sex slaves and 99% of prostitutes customers think prostitutes are free spirits

He stated that the claim of 20 attackers was an exaggeration and that there only 5 were involved. They will also hand themselves in later.

maybe hi-so daddy did get involved, otherwise why would he hand himself in? A conscience? In Thailand? I don't think so...

But I love The last bit, the others will hand themselves in also... Me thinks he's been told he's in the sh!t, get down here and sort it out. he's gone down, done the "liaising" with the appropriate police, determined how much was needed to fix this up, found out how many girls/trouble makers need to show up for the cameras and to keep the peace... Now all he has to do is work out which girls haven't performed this months and need a reminder of who and where they are... They'll be sent down, have their photos take, (probably) have the fine paid for by the club, and be back at work in an hour...

Yep, mafia and police, working well together as always

Edit: I mean, why didn't those others just front with him? Seems like it's too orchestrated

It is hardly surprising that these sort of incidents happen in an area where you have gogo bars, alcohol, drugs, and mafia types.

What is surprising is that it doesn't happen more often.

We all know bill padding is common in many establishments but I have to say that everytime that I have confronted management over a bill being padded I have been reimbursed. Sometimes reluctantly but I refuse to let people get away with theft.

I don't think I have ever felt threatened by any bouncers or wait staff in any bar in Pattaya but that doesnt mean the threat of violence is not there.

As others have posted there seems to be little consequences for the perpetrators of these mindless acts of violence.

Sorry but could you please explain how slavery is involved?

Also could you please explain how sitting in the bar with half naked girls dancing qualifies for prostitution?

Last but not least, please explain, assuming there was prostitution(as per your line of thought) how does it automatically qualify to be beaten up?

It does happened more often and more often then you can even imagine, just all other incidents do not make it to the news or even police station.

There are at least 2 assaults (mainly on foreigners) every week in Pattaya which includes being bottled.

Not sure if i am allowed to post the names, but can name a few who are known for doing something of a kind

Unless, and until the "toy" police decide to enforce the law, this kind of foolishness will continue. Sooner or later, an effective government will arrive, and they will decide that it is time Thailand takes it's rightful place in the world. Then they will replace the "Toy" police with real men, who are not afraid to enforce the laws of the land. At that time, they will start arresting these punks (wannabe mafia thugs), they will show the will to try them in a court of law, and they will start handing down the kinds of sentences these punks deserve, such as 5-15 years with fines of a million baht. Word will get around, and things will change fast. Do you think these low lifes could get away with this in Malaysia, or Vietnam? The police would round them up, and they would never be seen again. Say goodbye to the family, Mr. Thug. This is one of the reasons why Thailand is losing it's way, in the world of tourism. The neighboring countries are working hard to protect their images, and their reputations, and Thailand is doing absolutely nothing, except occasional lip service. What would happen in the US, or in Europe, if a club owner broke a bottle over a patrons head, or if the bouncers kicked the asses of a group of high society patrons? Alot more than is happening here. All of us should avoid Pattaya a Go Go like the bubonic plague. Let's get the word out there, and when they start going broke, maybe they will get the message. Either that, or they will become jet ski operators. Certainly, they will have a transferable skill set for that business.

RULES

I have been coming to Pattaya for about 10 years now and have managed to stay out of trouble, despite the nature of the place, the nature of the workers and the kind of foreigners we often get here. My rules for avoiding trouble are currently 1. don't go to Walking Street 2. don't rent jet skis 3. don't rent cars or motorbikes 4. avoid Thai men 5. avoid any Thai's who are drunk or druggy types 6. get one drink at a time, check the bill every time, never drink in a place where they keep the bill at the bar 7. never order a drink without first knowing the price 8. never lend or borrow money 9. never become "entrenched", always be an "outsider", albeit a friendly and polite one 10. never flaunt wealth or money 11. use your hotel safe deposit box 12. in the event of a dispute over money, be willing to lose and never return to that place, if you follow ther basic rules the amounts won't be large 13. trust your instincts

Maybe other people have some suggestions to add.

Apart from that I have a good time, I just think there are certain places and things that people do that raise the risks of being attacked, robbed or cheated so avoid those places and don't do those things. We may feel we should be able to go where we want and do what we want as long as it is reasonable but thats naive. A lot of the people in Pattaya, the ones in these "bad" places can't be trusted to be reasonable anymore than a dangerous dog that bites can be trusted to behave if you treat it nicely...its a dangerous dog and it bites so keep your distance...

Totally agree. This is the way I live in Pattaya. Some would say boring, but I do most of my activities in the day time. Less chance of trouble that way.

The 3 Thai women are known as hi-so business owners of a famous restaurant and jewellery business in Pattaya...

I am sorry, but you are not Hi-So in my books if:

1) you aree seen in a GOGO bar on Walking Street

2) you run a "business" in Pattaya

Also, in Pattaya mafia always trumps Hi-So, as evident in the story. Please remember even the hi-so PM's motorcar couldn't avoid being manhandled by the common folk in Pattaya a few years ago.

I think real Hi-So ladies in Thailand will just walk away calmly to avoid messing up designer dress and big hair, and ask/pay someone else to go "fix" the problem. Of course I am guessing as I am decidedly normal-so only. :whistling:

How many did you sleep with to come up with that percentage?

Ahhh the ignorant are starting to infiltrate tv

This is only a story because some Thai women got beat up. If it had been only foreigners, the police wouldn't have cared even the slightest tiniest bit. That's not speculation; it's considered appropriate that foreigners are always wrong in any dispute with any Thai, facts be damned.

And it's very well known that Thais jump into fights they're not involved in on the winning side, just so they can enjoy kicking the crap out of someone without consequences to themselves.

The rules mentioned are very good, intelligent rules, especially the part about keeping track of the bill.

I might add another however; don't actually touch your beer at all until you see the bill for it. It helps you get out alive you are in a scammer bar. This one has saved my ass a few times. As far those of you saying "don't go to a scammer bar at all you moron," sometimes it's not that easy to tell the difference. They don't put up a sign saying "Get your ass kicked here" or "Rip-offs on tap" do they?

As far as those of you congratulating the bar on attacking their customers, go check yourselves into a mental hospital.

Expect to see Mr. Mafia turn up as fish food! A two-bit sleeze bar manager doesn't attack Hi So ladies and get away with it. They have plenty of money and anger to find the right people for that job!

A bunch of Canadian male models and their 'hi-so' female companions were beaten up?

This bar has just gone up in my estimation.  ;)

Moronic post and it was two models not a bunch. Let's hope it doesn't happen to you someday but if it does maybe then will you understand that it's not that funny.

I'm not sure which is more amazing, the ridiculous report (which I didn't bother to finish reading) or the righteous indignation generated on ThaiVisa from all the usual holier-than-thou pontificators.

1). Self-important whackos visit sleazy bars, get drunk and lippy. Heated words are exchanged of the 'who do you think you are," "do you know who I am," variety.

2). Drunken people act badly, get belligerent and long-suffering sleazy bar staff whack the whackos.

3). i) ThaiVisa regulars become indignant at this surprising turn of events.

ii) ThaiVisa regulars reach the shocking conclusion that bar owners and police are not the saints we all thought they were.

iii) Armchair Rambos tell us all how really brave drunken whackos should only beat one another silly on a one-to-one basis. If more than one Thai pummels the same obnoxious, drunken lout in a sleazy bar, the matter should be report to the UN.

Come on people. If a few local shop keepers and some visiting sex tourists get plastered in a whore-house cum bar and then get into a dust-up with the muscle hired by the bar as bouncers, this doesn't qualify as a news event. The gasps of moral outrage emanating from the ThaiVisa bearers of the torch of cultural integrity is really old and really tired.

Pattaya is Pattaya. Love it or Loathe it, but get over it. These bars wouldn't exist in their unfettered glory if laws weren't being bent. The people visiting them didn't confuse them with a World Heritage Site.

If those women were truly hiso, then the staff at the gogo bar had better head back to Isan, shave their heads, and become a monk for a while. That will be the only way to stay alive.......

I would tend to agree. Folks in Thailand tend to know their place and its unusual for hi sos to get a public beating like this.

I can just see it unfolding: the hi so lady is being the gracious host/tour guide and is used to being deferred to and sees no reason that she and her farang guests should have to comply with closing times. The bar manager is also used to being deferred to, at least in the bar, and maybe he felt that he lost face when the lady complained. (How dare she! :D )

Any way, if the (Thai) bar manager turned himself in so quickly -and the serving staff will do the same soon- then maybe some quick phone calls were made to him as in, idiot, you just beat up Khun Hi So, cousin/friend/husband/kik to Khun even Higher So. The police brass might not take kindly to his public statement that "Even the cops don't mess with me." Maybe they don't but they do appreciate discretion :)

This is just another reason why the Reds and Yellows are hammering away at each other. Its all about who runs Thailand. People with real power arent beaten up by thugs. (Well maybe some times but then there is Hell to pay :D )

Your joking right? 99% are forced sex slaves? So that means all the white women working as prostitutes in Amsterdam and making $100k+ a year are slaves? I suppose porn stars are sex slaves as well then since the only distinction between them and a prostitute is a video camera in the room. What about attractive Swedish women who date or marry rich, older men for financial gain? They must be sex slaves as well since the only difference between them and an a gogo girl is the a gogo girl doesn't spend a week pretending to fall in love with you before she sleeps with you (she does that in only 10).

Who is forcing these girls and keeping them as sex slaves? The only thing they're slaves to are their unfortunate financial/educational circumstances that makes prostitution an attractive option. And quite a few are honestly just in it for quick, easy money. They would rather make a school teacher's monthly salary in a few nights because it's easier than going to university and working a real job every day that pays nearly nothing.

For every actual "sex slave" in Thailand there are probably hundreds of girls working of their own free will. They may not like it and many are pressured by family to earn money regardless of how they have to do it but that no where near actual slavery.

I know some of them, the male model in the pic, Justin (Jestin? <deleted>?), is an aquaintance as is his girfriend also pictured.

Besides the injuries they said they also felt sad as this was their first time in Pattaya, and it had turned out like this
that's kinda nonsense 'cos he's defo there alot of the time and his girlfriend's shop is there too.... classy reporting that.

I happen to know him as a nice polite and well behaved guy - as is his girlfriend. What happened that evening of course I cannot tell. Shall try to get some more from the horses mouth so to speak....from the pic of the beaten up lady and the lady seated I reckon I also know who they are and which restaurant they own. Anyway all I'm saying is maybe I can get some more of the story and if it's fit to print, shall post here.

Around mid-day on the 9th February 2011 Police General Nantawut Suwanlaorng, Police Officials Pattaya received complaints from Mr. Jestin Elekjoseph, 28, and Mr. Johnny Wittel ,28, both Canadian magazine models, along with their friends, Mr. Keri Chill 27, Ms. Tida Thannawan 45, Ms. Sopa Thanawan 43, Ms. Nuarat Samsaen 43.

So the old(er) women had some younger gigs, Canadian magazine models for undeveloped bodies and the gigs started to look at the ping pong balls and flying bananas. :jap:
