Sewerage

Hi is there anyone out there that knows of a company that specialises in clearing blocked sewerage outflow pipes from the septic tank. All I am getting from local builders is that the whole floor has to be dug up and the pipe replaced. I know this is not the UK but normally someone like Dynorod would do this, I am after a similar here in Pattaya. Maybe asking too much. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks

My septic tank underneath my toilet/shower room fills up regularly. 9 Years ago when I first came here, i did not know anything, and was the fool who kept paying high prices for the local guys to come and empty it, they charged me something like 400 bt a foot, and the guy use to measure it with a stick,,, so to empty the whole tank was well over a thousand Baht.

Then I heard City Hall do it for 300 bt (one price)

I have been using City Hall to empty my Septic Tank for a few Years now with no problems.

Good luck with it.

I don't think the OP was asking about getting his tank pumped. My interpretation was he was trying to get his pipes unblocked. What we call in the US as 'roto-rooter' job

I have been down this route before. I couldn't find any service that could do this. I had two options. If the blockage was close to a clean-out, then there are some plumbers that have snakes to try to clean out the blockage. Otherwise, it's digging up the line like the OP mentioned.

Fortunately for me, we were able to unblock the line by running a water hose down from the clean-out. I have a high volume/pressure water pump. Another option would be to pour some hydrochloride acid which is available from most hardware/plumbing supply or swimming pool shops, down the clean-out and wait for the acid to do its thing.

Thank the Lord Buddha that they mostly use PVC for the drains in Thailand! Unfortunately most builders do not install clean-outs in the line.

If the OP does not have a clean-out in the line. Then he has only one option. Dig up the line.
