What a fantastic result. :D

Not only pis*es off all the Victorian purists but the Queenslanders as well.  :D

did you hear the speeches today zed, they were calling it a south melbourne victory :o

I didn't know the Swans were called the "Bloods". :D This is all the mexicans have to cling to these days, very sad. :D Perhaps they should change the rules next year to guarantee one of their teams plays! :D Seriously, until they pull their heads out of their bums and realise 12 teams is too many for their pissy little state to support there will continue to be few Vic teams in the grand final.

Congratulations to Sydney Swans/South Melbourne/ Bloods. Great win, great game, good for the sport. The Eagles probably had the more talented side, albeit without good forwards, but guts will out.

These two teams played 8 quarters of finals football against each other and couldn't be separated overall.

Exactly right Croc. I remember looking at the table towards the end of the year and the bottom five sides were Carlton, Collingwood, Essendon, Hawthorn and The Bulldogs. Dunno how it ended up on the southern end of the table (no pun intended until I reread it).

Amazing when you think back to the 70s and 80s but pretty straight forward when you think about the expansion of the game. :o
