90 Day Clock

Featured Replies

Here we go again..............

I have a friend who renewed his extension of stay ( 1 year over 50) early August this year and has since been to the UK and returned (on a re-entry permit) can a few of you confirm that his 90 day reporting clock starts from the last time he re-entered the kingdom..........just so i can print it out for him.

Why do i bother? :o

Yes, the TM 6 - form (arrival card) is yyour first report.

So every time you got 90 days before you have to report, unless you leave earlier and return, when the 90 days start again.

Different, change of address while in LOS.

Absolutely!

So long as he has a re-entry permit he will be required to make his first report 90 days after his latest arrival stamp. Leaving the country before 90 days and then re-entering will start the clock from zero.

Below is a direct copy from Suan Phlu Immigration web site so should be enough to convince most people.

Note

The notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days is in no way equivalent to a visa extension.

If a foreigner staying in the kingdom over 90 days without notifying the Immigration Bureau or notifying the Immigration Bureau later than the set period, a fine of 2,000.- Baht will be collected. If a foreigner who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested, he will be fined 4,000.- Baht.

If a foreigner leaves the country and re-enters, the day count starts at 0 in every case. For details contact 0-2285-5742, 0-2287-3101-10 ext.2240

It wouldn't hurt to remind him that he must either have or get a re-entry permit else he will lose his 1 year extension.

Bit late now Jay he went home in August and is back already (on a re-entry permit)............he was just a little confused over when to report again.
