Response to Moonrakers,

My gosh Mr. Moon 1. I posted 10 things only one had to do with nationality and that is what you zeroed in on. 2. I posted 10 things not to elicit a response to those things only to give you an example of agendas that effect my posting. Not your posting. I don't care about your views on my agendas. I asked what are yours? Am I making myself clear. I don't want to discuss anything I believe. I want to find out what you believe in. I want to find out what motivates your posting. To be fair I told you about me. Now you tell me about you. Can't you read? Or is it simply your agenda not to read what another posts only to go for the jugular of national identity? If so simply state that. I don't care. Up to you.

Now if you are afraid to tell us what motivates your posting, that I can understand.

Are you completely unbiased? Does everything interest you in the same degree? Do you key in on certain topics and have a belief system that effects your views?

I forgot to mention of course it was another opportunity for you to talk about your sex life,! And as has already been mentioned, you stated opinions and did not ask questions.

My motives for posting?

I don't really have any, why should everybody have a pre-defined set of motives to post anything. If I see something that I feel like posting on, I will. If not, I won't. Like going to the pub, I have no set agenda other than see friends and chat.

I don't care about your views on my agendas

So why the bloody hell did you post them on a public forum then? Do you now get to dictate how others respond?

I asked what are yours? Am I making myself clear

Again, who died and made you boss. Where on Earth is this arrogance coming from?

I am at a loss how to respond. I don't know how to make it simpler but I will try again.

I listed 10 things that motivate my posting, my agenda as it were. I listed them as examples not for the purpose of discussion. I thought if I was asking you to list things that motivate your posting I should do the same.

The question I asked was for you to list your agenda the thing that motivates your posting.

I asked a question about what motivates your posts.

I am not being arrogant. If you don't want to answer, don't answer. If you do answer, try answering the question I asked instead of starting a rant about how you feel about me personally.

Do you have a pre defined set of motives? If your answer is no, I don't believe you because everyone does.

How many times have you read Jingthing post homophobic posts? How many times have you read Patsy post anti cat posts? How many times have you read anti education posts from …. or misogynist posts from …..

We all have our own set of beliefs that are different from each other. What are yours?

What has actually gotten under my skin mark is the sleaze, again.

I do just try to ignore it but you got me on a bad day, so I bit.

It's not just the sleaze and the fact that the vast majority of us just don't want to hear about you rattling on about sex all the time, it's the way you try to defend yourself. Yet again you manage to suggest that your seedy ways are the way to go and everybody else is somehow stupid or lying. That you are all wise and anybody else in a monogamous relationship is somehow stupid.

Yeuuughhhhh.

You really do give me the creep sometimes.

That is a flame. It has nothing to do with what I posted and is designed only to create an argument and derail the thread. But that's OK.

It does however indicate your bias. It indicates a part of your agenda and motivation.

Why don't you simply write that men who are non monogamous are seedy and creep you out.

Let me give this a stab so Harcourt will have something to pick apart tomorrow. I like to give people reasons to live.

My agenda on TV Forum....

1. Never discuss religion with an atheist. They are so certain they are right and the rest of the world is wrong.

2. Always question information posts made without links. Members have been known to fib a little from time to time.

3. Do not believe pompous braggarts. There is a reason they try to impress you anonymously.

4. Stand up to critics of the US. What do they think the world would look like if Hitler or Stalin had won the hot or cold wars?

5. Support our military members. They are the ones that fight and die for your freedom of speech, not the news reporters or college professors.

6. Never get embroiled in gay discussions. It isn't my life style but it isn't my right to criticize it.

7. Don't step on others personal rights and don't let others step on mine.

8. Older, more experienced members generally know more than younger members that have little real world experience.

9. I don't tolerate Evian drinkers. They dream too much and have lost all touch with reality.

10. I don't care what might be considered tasteful or respectable. In other words, I don't really care what other people think of me.

11. Eat enchiladas at the Beaver Bar every chance one gets. Best Mexican food in Thailand.

Golly gee. I hope this post doesn't upset anybody!

Because, in general, they simply don't.

You however give me the heeby jeebies.

Euuuwww

Anyway I'm done on this thread. Should never have bitten in the first place, I'll learn one day

You ask for people's motivation's and I tell you mine (That I have none). Then you just say that it can't be right.

Why even ask if you won't listen to the answer?

Golly gee. I hope this post doesn't upset anybody!

I liked it anyway. :clap2:

I've only one. To critically challenge and question the fanciful ideals of eurocentrism and Western civilisation.

Not ethnocentrism in general but only eurocentrism?

Yep. This is correct. I'm quite lucid as whom to direct my angst.;)

If I was to actually have an agenda, I suppose it would be to try to educate the ignorant and to open the eyes of the willfully blind.

Agenda question. 1. Do you educate more ignorant, A. Americans B, Germans C. Australians D British ?

2. What nationality do you find most guilty of being willfully blind?

Answer the questions honestly.

ALL OF THE ABOVE.

What about question #2.

The Anglo-American circles.

I didn't see this as a question at all, rather an opportunity for Mark to put his had on his heart and pledge his legiance to his flag (again). The Yoo Ess Off Ey is almighty and nobody can say anything about them that isn't absolutely glowing blah blah blah.

Indeed. Worn out and rhetorical.

Mark - I'll try to give you my 'agendae', although I think that for me that is the wrong word.

I will try to educate, where I know some facts.

I will express my opinions where I think they are relevant.

I will listen to other people's opinions and sometimes modify mine if there is a well-expressed counter to something I have posted.

Specifics:

I want the UK out of European political union, although I am happy with trading blocks that reduce tariffs.

I dislike most politicians.

I think both Iraq and Afghanistan are wasting soldiers lives without any real objective in mind that would justify such waste. Libya is next on this agenda. Fight the Somali pirates, fight the various terrorists, but do it with thought and guile - it is the terrorist weapon.

I like SE Asia, but am disappointed in Thailand, as it has been deteriorating for many years.

I like winding people up.

Oh, Mark, I forgot the other one

Journalists, newspapers and especialyy television anchors and reporters.

Whoi all seem to think that PC is the only way to live, that all us white folk are duty bound to apologise to all them colored folk for 'crimes' committed two centuries ago, that we are all concerned more about climate change than about putting non-GM food on our family table, that power stations are machines of the devil, and electricity can be grown in the fields.

(I've just been watching Australian Network).

Big fuss there, because some Aussie soldiers in Afwhatsitstan have been making derogatory remarks about the indigenous people there. On Facebook. And dissing Kharzai.

Oh, shock and horror.

These kids (twenty-somethings) are out there, risking their lives when most were sent as trainers, not front-line troops, bitching as twenty-somethings will when they are off duty, and back home the media and the politicians are condemning them for posts on Facebook.

Bloody media <deleted> - bloody politicians - <deleted> the lot of them !!!!!

That is what I had in mind. I was not trying to be judgmental about another's agendas. I was only trying to find out what they were and if they realized they had them when they posted.

A person who likes cats will see a cat fight different than a person who dislikes cats. It is not right or wrong it is simply a difference in realities as they are not the same for everyone.

I watch House MD on TV. He thinks everyone lies and that effects his perception of their medical problems. He is normally right on the show at least.

We all have a bias. In my own warped way I think it is productive to understand and discuss them.

I don't think governments or religious organizations or Thai women tell the truth. I am sure there are exceptions to that statement but 80% of the time I am probably correct. Given a choice on selecting an honest group, Thai women probably are more truthful than governments or religious organizations. Now I have to go think about that for a while.

Golly gee. I hope this post doesn't upset anybody!

I liked it anyway. :clap2:

I'm sure you did.....right up your alley.
