Inexpensive electric openers can be had from places like Global House for around 10,000 baht. Then you have to hire someone to install or do it yourself. There are some companies like PAT that will sell and install for upwards of 30 plus thousand depending on the model.

I bought a unit from a local dealer of this product and I am quite satisfied with his work and the manufacturer. Paid about 29k with all including IR sensor for reversing gate for safety. I traded emails with the main office in BKK several times before deciding on this system. The Model 428 with IR sensors is about 23k plus installation. Install fees will depend on where you are and how much electrical work they have to do.

Fit the best one you can afford - too many times i have seen the "cheap" ones opening and closing by themselves during thinderstorms!!

I paid about 30K for mine, forget the name of the company.

Make sure you are there when they fit it as they will try to do it the quickest easiest way possible which is not always the best!

I live in Korat and a Bangkok company came out here and fitted an auto motor for 18,000 all in. This was three years ago now and its still working fine.

Attn ManOnTheRoad : Do you mind giving more details on your electric fence? I know many Thais are scared shitless of electric fences as they assume it is 220volts form the house mains power.

Some people at night when they go to bed, wire up their front gate, touch it, bye bye......whistling.gif

I do honestly like it very much. But I see a design problem. Way to easy for a thief to simply short it out. Throw a non insulated cable over it.

I was thinking to 'hide' my electi-fied wired to zapp off my fence, one at a time.
