Women & Pornography

Featured Replies

My daughter's partner owned a XXX SHOP, with a flourishing mail order busines selling PORN.

Most mailing customers, were women, who would never, heaven forbid, be seen entering such shops.

This article shows / tells the way it is, realitywise.

When journalists write about sex or sexuality, they like to dress it up.

Usually in Victorian tat, rather than modern bondage.

They clothe the topic in propriety by writing about the public interest rather than what the public is really interested in: sex in all its glorious contradictory and provocative glory.

The recent flurry of gosh-how-shocking stories about female consumption of pornography is emblematic. The creation and use of porn by women for women is one of the few growth areas in an industry that has suffered economic droop because of the internet.

........................ etc......Read more click link at the end.

Yet nothing is written about the sufferings of women feverishly turning pages, while their brains silently atrophy. It's true that no one can hear you scream in books. This stuff promotes unhealthy gender roles, unrealistic expectations about sex and, worse, likely rots the brain.

Perhaps the arch-enemies of feminism are not Hefner and Flint, but Mills & Boon. Romantic fiction, not pornography, is the entertainment evil worthy of public censure.

Why can't women be more like men and take up a healthy pastime? Like spanking.

Are we talking of a narrow demographic of Western women...??

Are we talking of a narrow demographic of Western women...??

Is that a collective noun for like, six or seven of them ? I thought it was a herd........... Shows what I know

The collective noun for women is an interesting anomaly of the English language because the noun can change depending on the physical attributes of the women at hand and often their cultural bacjground comes into it too..

"Herd" is certainly correct, but usually when referring to Liverpudlians.

"Pod" is the correct term when referring to Chicago post menopausal women of African descent.

Walk into a New York beauty parlour and you will find a "pack", while a beach volleyball congregation is called a "handshake".

Education is a beautiful thing................

The original article is in the NZ Herald, and as it is well known that sheep occupy much more of men's thoughts in the Land of the Long White Cloud than wimmin, then I guess there is quite a market for smutty books for the ladies out there.

And who says that when a postal subscriber writes in signing herself Ms Jacqueline Thompson, she is a she? Asking for that provocative frilly, lacy lingerie catalogue does not necessarily signify a woman at the other end of the mail-line.

Of course, if the poster asks for the lingerie to be modelled by border lambs, then we know it's a he, and a perverted he at that - fancy, underage sex with a sheep.

I skimmed. Can't say I still have any idea <deleted> its on about

Nothing wrong with fat. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas if they trimmed the ham. Corned beef sandwiches wouldn't be worth the bread they're made of if they trimmed the beef. Bacon and eggs wouldn't be worth waking up for if they trimmed the bacon. If you are forced to buy trim/skim milk...then you have to buy cream to augment it....and don't get me started on skinny women!

I think i speak for the whole of the Board here when i say none of us want to see you start on a skinny woman..............Just the thought of itblink.gif

Hey, what's wrong with us skinny women? We wear our bony bodies proudly.

And can eat all the cream cakes without looking at the calories!!!

I ate half a chicken and chips last night - did i worry about the fat content? Nooooo!!!

Because I know i will giggle it off.

Nothing wrong with you trim, thin, svelte ladies......but in so saying, there is also nothing wrong with a few extra pounds....all the more to love.

After reading the article I have to agree with sbk... i don't have clue what the writer is yacking on about... other than coming up with a wild assumption about the sexuality of some women.

Of course, anything about sex sells magazines and newspapers. The woman's magazines are full of it, but in a more subtle way than the men's magazines. Men just like to see tits and ass and everyone expects that about us.

Just skim read it too, so not going to directly comment that on that per say, but do wish to say something about porn.

Personally i think porn should start thinking about their female market more. Most porn caters towards a male audience. (Im not talking about porn with a romantic slant! Women can be just as carnivorous as men when it comes to sex!). Just that porn is mainly focused on the male perspective, rather than more for women. Also think they would do well if they made porn with couples in mind, rather than just for the male viewer.

The only problem i can see porn having, is (like anything) when it becomes an addiction, or removes satisfaction with a partner. If it interferes with your life and/or your relationship, then its not just a bit of entertainment or a means to an end.

I think the article is suggesting, that sexually deprived women are using porn, even Mills & Boon, as substitute for husbands / male partners.

Partners working are too tired, "Not tonite my dear, I have a headache,"

Mills & Boon is extremely erotic, if a person is inclined to wishing to be turned on they may well be gratified reading / looking at porn,

All in the mind set.

I see this as an opportunity to help our female members and show some compassion..................( Buy me and Harky a beer and we're there !!!)

Indeed. Compassion and comparison: Mr Limpy and Mr Hardcourt.

Not on the beach, no. But with her stilletoes and fishnets, she does wear it in private....I imagine.

Oh dear....That old Harky family motto raises it's ugly head again. " You bring the lube, and Ill bring the tube" is just so eighties.

And what's poor old Khun Porn being blamed for now?

If he satisfies all the lonesome ladies, I say good luck to him!
