Joseph, Faith and Grace Haddad appear like any other American teenagers - except for the fact their parents Robert and Abby believe the world is about to end.

Two years ago their father Robert and mother Abby gave up their regular jobs to preach for the Family Radio church at the centre of the May 21 Judgment Day campaign.

In a last ditch effort to spread the word before the Armageddon that they believe will happen tomorrow, Robert and Abby took their children to a New York street fair.

This nut has already gotten it wrong once. How many more times before his follwers call him on hisBS?

Does Hawking have any children? If so, I bet he told them they weren't going to Heaven either. :)

I'm always surprised at the arrogance of the people who make predictions like this, when the rest of us are in the dark. So many times such predictions have been proved wrong.

Of course one day it'll be right... but then it won't have been predicted!

Haddad ???

That's arabic for 'Smith' or ironworker.

Maybe he's mixing up the whole world with the Middle East.

The world has come to an end for Hosni Mubarrak and the Tunisian president, will soon do so for the Yemeni guy too.

But Gaddafi and Bashir Assad will continue on their merry way.

There was something on the news about this. It seems the guy says he got the date wrong. The new date is October 23 (I think).

I think if God spoke to me, I would pay closer attention to what he said than this guy does.

Why would we be doomed? Only some religious fanatics who actually believe this will be doomed - if they actually sell their houses or spend their money for some pilgrims trips or whatever. Sane people will not be affected, except by having a good laugh.

Thank God!

I was just about to head out to get an enormous loan at extortionate rates from a loan shark.

Think I might decide against it now.

Phew!

Nooooo! Take the money, spend up large and enjoy.....you won't have to repay it.

:annoyed:

Obviously as everyone now knows the Rapture didn't happen when it was supposed to.

I believe now that the guy who predicted it is now saying he made a mistake in his calculations and is therefore rescheduling his predicted dates.

I actually met an American woman in Turkey who was quite worried about what would happen to her two young children when the Rapture did occur. (This was quite a few years ago.)

Her concern is that she might be driving them somewhere, she would be instantaneously transported up to heaven, and her car would crash...harming her children.

She was quite serious about this.

Not knowing what to say, I rapidly changed the subject.

As far as I know, she's still here on earth...for whatever reasons.

:whistling:

I wonder how many people in the areas with all the flooding and tornadoes thought the rapture was happening? Talk about a mindf*ck.

:D mindfkuc indeed!

Sure it's happening, Koheesti.... but in geological time. You won't still be here to see the grand finale.

Now I'm torn again
