Klx250S Tires, What'S Better Than Oem?

Featured Replies

I went riding with some KLX250S guys off road on my D-Tracker and obviously the street tires were not good in the mud.

So I'm going to get a dirt wheelset but was wondering if any of you have found tires better than the stock ones from Kawasaki.

I figure I'll do a 50-50% split of riding.

Since its always raining here, my biggest concern is safe wet on-road handling and decent mud shedding ability.

I know Pirelli has some good tires but has anyone tried the IRC brand.

They have a new BR-99 that looks good, is it even available in Thailand yet?

Any recommendations?

I have fitted a set of Pirelli MT 90 AT scorpions to my KLX and have found them excelent on roads and dirt, whilst they may not be as good as full blown dirt tyres the do the job very well, cost around 6,500 baht for the set if i recall. The tyres are available to fit although as you can see below the front is slightly wider than the stock tyre, on the road the grip is great even in heavy rain.

Pirelli tyres:

Front 90/90-21Rear: 110/80-18

Old tyres:

Front 80/90-21Rear: 110/80-18
