Guilty Pleasures?

Featured Replies

I always had a sweet tooth. So does my grand daughter. My teeth suffered because of it and I've tred to ween myself off too much sugar, but it's difficult. I try to compensate by eating fruit instead. I always have raisins, dried mango and pineapple, and pitted dates that I add to my granola style cereal.

My favourites were O'Henry bars. They don't have them in Thailand so I treat myself to the occasional Mars bar, or Snickers.

Sugar cubes straight from the bowl in my local resto ...... they can't touch you for it.

Gravy.

When no one is looking I'll drink it straight from the pot. Mmmmm. licklips.gif

No wonder you don't come back to Thailand. You couldn't afford it at the price of cheese in Thailand. That is one of the pleasures of living in Canada... cheese is relatively cheap. I get a one km block of sharp chedder for about $12. That is about 360 baht. In Chiang Mai it costs about 360 baht for about 200 grams... and it's not as good.

Wow, Ian, that's real cheap. Works out to $0.0000000012 per square centimetre

Got me.! :jap:

My dyslectic brain hardly ever lets me write a sentence without a mistake. That would be kilogram, or kg for short.

BigMac.

And somewhere along the line with some visit to a temple I can't actually recall I somehow made a promise to my missus that I would never eat beef again. Conned, I tell ya.

Sounds painful.

Is this a guilty pleasure, or pure masochism?

Can't think of any pleasure that I indulge in, that gives me a feeling of guilt either before or after.

But then I'm a boring sort of guy.

Maybe contributing to TV when I'm at work?

But I feel no guilt.

chocolate hostess cup cakes followed by a sugar coated hostess berry pie...both ingested in about 30 secs...

or, reeses peanut butter cups followed by a snickers...

I am diabetic and the fulfilled compulsion is accompanied by a death wish...

in a supermarket in VN I'm with work colleagues on the weekend and one who I know who is more gravely diabetic than meself has a trolley full of the above confeccion items and I observed: 'Morris. you shall die sooner rather than than later...'...he just smiled grimly...

I suffer from pleasures occasionally, but I seldom feel guilty about it.

Same same. I went to the local Songkran bash and wolfed down rice and kanom. It took 3 weeks to get back below fasting 6.0. I have to admit I didn't feel guilty though. I loved it

I thought this was going to be a topic about ladyboys!!

As with soundman I love gravy, on everything. Mash with gravy is great, chip n gravy, pie, steak, chicken, straight gravy.

My other guilty pleasure is a few nameless girly websites I like to check out each night after in order to relax, take my mind off the day.

Jaffa Cakes.

Just can't get the things here..... last time a mate came over and brought me a box, they were gone in fives minutes, hiding in a room on my own.

Mild cheddar = $NZ9.99, ditto colby and edam.

Tasty cheddar =$NZ12.00 and up, age dependant

10.00 NZD=7.86930 CAD

I was going to say I have none. But on thinking I shall have to say that I have a few.

Firstly, when I change the bedding I like to have a nice long hot bath and then sprinkle copious amounts of Johnson's baby powder over myself (and most of the bathroom - looks like a Mexican drugs den afterwards) and then go to sleep in my nice clean bed. I think that goes back to childhood.. the smell.

On Sunday night here, we have back to back episodes of the three CSI series on TV which I can watch in English. So, I get my jammies on and a packet of crisps and sit and watch that. My entourage know not to phone me between 9pm and 11.30. I have an answer machine in case my mother keels over which I can hear. Oh, and avocados are cheap at the moment so I may make some guacamole to go with my crisps.

I don't like chocolate.

I did that the other day. Bought 3 seasons of CSI (72 episodes:blink:) and spent the better part of a week, without much sleep attempting to watch it all. laugh.gif
