So Much For Global Warming (Perhaps)

Featured Replies

The announcement made on 14 June (18:00 UK time) comes from scientists at the US National Solar Observatory (NSO) and US Air Force Research Laboratory. Three different analyses of the Sun's recent behaviour all indicate that a period of unusually low solar activity may be about to begin.

This has been known for years and I think most people who can read know about it already. The scientists are just now reporting it? It seems these scientists are much more in tune with news cycles than solar cycles.

If you call it Climate Change, or Global Warming (or Cooling), it becomes a political issue and gets talked to death.

If instead you talk about things like global water shortages, and deforestation, maybe something can get done. Just maybe.

If you talk about carbon credits, it's just something to slam Julia Gillard for.

Sorry, I should have said Carbon Tax, not carbon credits (though it's basically just the other side of the same coin).

High doubts. Profits and mindless consumption is the bottom line.......the future gets in the way.

Surely they are not trying to say that the Sun is more powerful than an Ex-Vice President of the USA ?

Well, it is a Murdoch rag, and he's more powerful than the President.
