I is from UK, well under 50, not married, not working, not want ED visa, not got millions for investment. Don't want to overstay.

I used to get non O from Hull for visiting friends

Now the best I can get is triple entry tourist from hull, then what to do after that runs out. And how long can I keep staying? Please help.

Go 2x to Cambodia for 2x 60 days with extension from Immigration gives a few days under 1 year... appears that is what many are now doing, at the moment anyway there is NO limit on how many you can get there, people that I know do this say use a Agent or Visa van/bus Company = no problems

i think the cheapest way would be retirement visa,if ya were of age.put 800000 baht in the bank,up to 7+1/2 % interest.,kasikorn bank

Just so nobody gets to exited, no Thai bank is (currently) paying 7.5% p.a. on bank deposit. I assume you are referring to Kasikorn Bank's fixed 13 month step-up account which pays 7.5% for the last two months of the term. If you leave the money in the account for all 13 months the average interest comes out at 3.827% p.a.

Besides, the OP has already stated that he is well under 50 years of age, so he wouldn't qualify for a retirement extension anyway.

Go home get a job save your money and come back when you are 50, cheapest way I know. You have eliminated the ed visa which is the easiest way you can stay without border runs. Good luck.

As with allof these visa run situations they will eventually create a crack down and then we will have to listen to the whining of the participants on how Thailand is putting another nail in there cofin.

Not sure that is the case, just many whining it is so...

From mostly on this site it appears it is the Counsel at the Embassy/Thai Consulate interpretation of the rules, the places that appeared to freely give out 1 year Visas have had a change of Counsel. Rule change in Hull was because of staff change, Perth because the Counsel retired..

Again reading on here, even the over 50's and the married to a Thai, requirement are different from place to place

Appears that for the non married and under 50's = nearest to Thailand for double entries Visa to Cambodia, or 'ED' Visa the OP says he is not going this route, but would be by far the cheapest route, Online School 2x 2 hrs a weeks is not really that long and schools are advertising 1 year school fees @ 12,500 baht, 2nd year and there after 15,000 baht. You only need to go to any neighboring Country 1x to get the 'ED' Visa, thereafter it is 1,900 baht every 90 days for the extensions from Immigration for the 3 years the OP wants to stay.

Well since you rule out all the possible alternatives as "unsuitable" for your lifestyle....the only thing you can do is keep scrambling for visas until the Thai immigration finally gets tired of you and refuses any more.

Maybe, if you get lucky, they will start a new visa class called the loser/booser Thai bargirl chaser visa...and maybe you can qualify for that.

I'm sorry but after 30 years of working and supporting a Thai family...sending them money every month for them to live on....until the time when I could save 800,000 Bhat (I'm not married) and reached over 50 years of age so I could qualify for a non O multi-entry visa and a retirement extension to stay here in Thailand with my Thai family (remember I said I'm not married) I am temporarily out of sympathy with your predicament. I'm just a little short of sympathy today it seems.

As I see it right now, you simply haven't paid your dues here in Thailand and apparently don't want to either.

Until you have, keep scrambling for your visas or else EARN the privaledge of staying in Thaland.

But having said that an ED visa is probably the cheapest way for you to stay in Thailand...so take a language course and learn Thai to stay here.

And there is also 15% tax deducted.

A bit OT but ....

Thanks for confirming my worst fears. Kbank are being a bit naughty with this offer and not explaining it very well. Also remember that Kbank deducts 15% of that interest for tax, so you would actually be left with 3.25295% p.a. net if you stay the whole 13month term.

So the cost of a staying on a retirement visa, including lost interest, is higher than carefully managing your triple entry tourist visas and doing an occasional visa-run.
