Most likely if I were to get a replacement it would also be a Panasonic plasma, though I would take a closer look at the LED models for comparison.

Im in this predicament at the moment in whether to buy a plasma or an LED 42in.

My concern is whether the LED will have a good quality picture with UBC Truevisions compared with a plasma.

Anyone out there already using an LED TV with UBC Truevisions can tell us if the picture is as good as using a plasma ?

I think you are looking on the issue the wrong way. Both plasmas and LCD TVs with LED background lights provide good quality pictures and both are equally affected by the quality of the input signals. Hence, whether you chose a plasma or a LCD should more likely be determined on your personal preferences.

The LCD offers better pictures in daylight but have poorer side-views. With LED back lights they generate also less heat and draw less current.

Thanks for that stgrhe,

I would still like some reassurance though if there is anyone out there actually using an LED TV

with UBC Truevisions whether the picture qaulity is good.

The reason for my concern is that i am under the impression that these Tv's are designed to work with

digital HD signals which isn't what UBC transmits (apart from a few recent additions that they charge a premium for)

but most of their channels are still analogue.

All the UBC satellite and cable signals are from a digital source.

Although at a very low resolution that looks crap on anything bigger than 32" screen.

That's probably why i thought that UBC was analogue,

which brings me back to my predicament before i go and buy a tv

what will show the best picture a 42" plasma or a 42" LED with the same resolution broadcasting UBC Truevisions?

Im leaning towards the LED only because it the newer technology but im not 100% sure if it's the right decision based

on picture qaulity here in Thailand with the broadcasters.

Anyone out there actually using an LED Tv with UBC?
