Just to add to my earlier post-

Lam Morrison is a thai celebrity in his own right and certainly NOT because of the Blues Factory!. If someone likes his music then great, it has nothing to do with the club.

"theres better ways to promote bars than this bull shit ,( i love lams music ) forking hel_l ive heard it all now"

not sure if that's a joke or what... If I wanted to promote something, I would probably mention where the performer was playing :o

anyway, thanks for the feedback guys..

I had better not mention that Lam has been known to perform at the Harley Pub amongst other venues then... :o:D

I know the owner of Harley/ Eden quite well :D and I went to the Harley bar and saw him after the owner told me about it (after I made clear what time he had to finish by :D )

Lam has always played where he wants to, he's not under any contract with me and he still has a monthly slot at the Rock Pub in BKK.

I got angry the last time he played there as he got stick over the sound etc, it upset Lam quite a bit when he was spoken to badly, Lam does'nt like playing in some venues and turns down alot of gigs, they were lucky he played and he only did so because he and James have known eachother a long while. :D

I had no knowledge of that incident and would not have mentioned that particular venue in this context had I known. :D

I hope things were patched up amicably.

Maybe your type don't know who he is but i can assure you alot of other people do, the guys been on the scene for over 30 years.

Poppa you really are a proper <deleted> are'nt you, stop going to the cheapo beer bars and happy hour spots where you can grope the birds for free and come to check the place out yourself, I'll keep a look out for a skinny guy in a beer chang shirt (as i'd guess it would be you).

Type Lam Morrison into your search engine! The guy has earnt more publicity and respect than you ever will. :o

Used to catch Lam Morrison at the old Rockestra pub in Hua Hin from time to time. Never met the guy personally but was a real treat to listen in. Particularily given the choice of the live thai disco at the then Melia (now Hilton)... :D

This was a half open air joint, remodeled from a tradtional Thai house but was right across from the Wat, smack in the center of town. Great atmosphere and great jams but you just knew the location had a 'best before date'.

New one's across the tracks now, haven't been there yet but hard to beat the feel of the old place (bet the neighbours next door don't miss it tho) :o:D

Dave, time for a Blues Factory expansion perhaps- was that part of your swing thru Hua Hin awhile back? :D

10 + years ago Lam was a fixture in Samui and well very well known Pops?

Cheers

I lived in Samui 10 yrs ago, and I never saw him there. There was a guy called Bongo, thai with dreadlocks who played excellent guitar and had two pristine Gibson Les Pauls', but no Lam. Lam is a celebrity in his own right, he has extensively toured Europe with Deep Purple amongst others, was one of the first Thai artists to sell over 1 million records, and is respected and looked to as a mentor amongst the Thai musician community. I have seen him several times over the last year on Thai tv and they all have very much respect for him. So for you who just got off the plane (Poppa) for your sex holiday please do not make any stupid comments.....

I lived in Samui early ninties - kind of Blurry! Lam was a regular fixture at ????? Bar in Chaeweng, did this really happen? or is this a figment of a failing mind, time for a beer!

Cheers
