Hi I am a newbie but have been reading the posts for some time

My gf has been to Australia on a 3 month tourist visa and I want to know if she can get a 6 month visa with her 3 year old daughter

As she is not employed I have been fully supporting her since she went back 1 month ago

Or is this not acceptable and it would get rejected because of the daughter

The other option is for her to apply just on her own and then bring the daughter out if I apply for a spouse visa in the future

I don't want the application to be rejected

thanks

Are you the child's father?

If not, she may need written permission from the natural father.

If, as you state, you have been reading posts in this forum on the subject, you no doubt have found all the answers you need. If not, use the "search" option to find out more.

As she is unemployed she would have virtually no chance of obtaining a tourist visa on her own. You will need to sponsor her.

For her second tourist visa she should have little problem. (I'm assuming that you sponsored her out on her first visa.)

I am not the childs father and yes I did previously sponser her for her 1st holiday visa to australia

She is now divorced from the father - it may prove difficult to get his written permission

I was just trying to work out if I should apply whith or without the child

You will almost certainly require a letter from the childs legal guardian or a certified letter proving her to be the sole custodial parent in order to get the visa and you will need it at the airport for when they leave. My friends sister was knocked back at the airport because she didnt have a letter from her mother and she was 18yo at the time. She had to return to Pak Chong, get the letter and then book another flight.

the only other problem I see is that, they may suspect an overstay of visa with both the lady and her child coming here and refuse the application.
