Thanks for the reply earlier Scouse and the help and advice you and others gave me first time around.

I thought i would start my own topic and ask for more help.

my gf has been in the uk for 5 months and is going home soon. everything went really well, better then expected and we both want her to return in january, 6 weeks after returning home. this time she wants to go to an english school in london and i have sourced one which is more expensive than most but near my work in central london and which has all the neccesary creditations. i used to be an english teacher myself in bangkok and know a little about it. enough to know most teachers are frauds but thats another matter. i am lucky enough to work part time hours for full time money so i can spend a lot of time with her but she still needs something to fill 3 or 4 hours a day and this seems the ideal choice especially since she has been accepted into one of bangkoks better universities to study tourism and leisure in july time and will be studying english there.

my questions are: can i apply for a student visa now while she is still in england or do we have to wait till she returns to thailand?

also what are our chances? we had no problems last time round but i have heard that second time applications so soon are a problem. also as you said scouse the visa people may think she is only going to study as an excuse to come back to the uk. this is of course partly true. my guess would be to tell the truth as i am now. or perhaps we could say we tried to enrol her this time and they refused.

the way i see it is that she is genuinely my gf and i want her to be with me so why doesnt she do something good with her time and further her education, giving her a great kickstart into uni.

any advice on this matter will be as ever greatly appreciated. forums like these help to make a lot of guys and girls very happy.

thanks.

Hi walq,

The fact that your g/f will be going to university in Thailand in July places a new perspective on her application to study in the UK. If she can provide proof to the visa officer that she'll be starting a course in Thailand in July, then your g/f will have, at least, displayed her intention to leave the UK at the end of her studies, which is a requirement of the immigration rules. Furthermore, it makes sense for her to study English in the UK prior to furthering her studies in Thailand.

You can enrol her on a course now, perhaps with a start date in January, and she can then apply for the visa upon her return to Thailand. On the basis of the information you've provided, I don't see any particular problem with her getting a visa.

Scouse.

Thanks so much mate. Its starting to hit me that she is going home now. I suppose next July she will have to go home for years to study.

My intention is to have another year out there again. Life pretty shit over here in blighty. especially with winter looming.

once again thanks.
