Stag Do In Chiang Rai

Featured Replies

Hi, heading up to chiang rai with maybe 6-10 people. Was wondering if there are any recommendations for guesthouses which are relatively cheap and not strict on noise. Also is there much to do during the day have been to pattaya noi before but is there anything like go-karting / crazy golf etc. Haven't found much on the internet. Cheers for any recommendations

As with Guest Houses and hotels anywhere, too much noise is always a problem.

Maybe stay somewhere on or near Jed Yhod Road where the expat bars are located. You will just have to check the area yorself. many guest houses there.

Jan Som guesthouse is near Jed Yhod and inexpensive (about 350) (not real noise friendly)

LEK House is also nice and has a pool, bar, and restaurant on premisis. About a 10 minute walk from the clock tower (about 400-500). (Accomodating to guests, but not to extreme rowdyness)

PS Blue Elephant Guest house is also friendly and has a bar on premisis. (350 +). Is north of the center of town, should rent either a bike or motorscooter.

I understand Frisby Golf, Rock Climbing and Zip lines will be open begining of October.

Elephant Trecking, Hot Springs, Waterfalls, Black Temple, White Temple, Off Road Motorcycling, Golf driving ranges and a couple 9 hole fun courses in town.

Trecking to Aka Hill and other Hill Tribes. Nite Dicso's and Coyotee dancing Clubs.

Have fun. Lots to do if you seek it out.

I stayed at a very nice Thai hotel (500 baht a night) on the main street about a block and a half from the night bazaar. It was super clean and comfortable. I think the name was Diamond Hill Hotel. It was just down the street from the Wang Hotel and across the road.

Cheers for the advice, don't think it will be that rowdy but after a few drinks you don't realize the noise you can make.

suggestions of two decent places that may fit your expectations.

Lek House friendly family run with pool and bar. Not expensive and 10 minutes to city center and action. Very accomodating to guests

Pimanninn. Nice amenaties hotel, not expensive, but about 1 1/2 kilometers to city center. Pool, Sauna, and Fitness

Diamond Park is also nice, but a bit more expensive. There are two Diamond Park hotels, newer and an older one close to city center.

Diamond Park Inn and Diamond Park Inn Resort. I do not think either of these are less tan 1,000 a night.

Am I the only one wondering why somebody would come to Chiang rai for a stag do? I presume you are marrying a local girl? In which case congratulations, good choice.

Admitedly I don't look for places to have "stag do" type entertainment, but I am not aware that there is an abundance here :)

Is there something I am missing?

Diamond Park Inn is a good choice,

Generally Chiang Rai may be a bit quiet for you ?

Depends what you are looking for ?

Most of us live & work in chiang mai so just looking for something different for a weekend. Not too far and a change of scenery. Been before and know it is a bit quite but haven't been on nights out. Cheers for everyones help and it is a friend who is taking the plunge thank god

Au Contraire, my little lotus blossom has it watched 24 hours a day just in case I accidentally wander in....

I'm surprised no one suggested the Red Rose, I'd think they wouldn't mind a bit of rowdy behaviour there. B)

A Great Recommendation Scead !

Think if buy a member card will get half off. Heard they are 200 baht.

See signs outside also advertising 350 baht for some rooms.

FYI: Lek House also has a Jaquizzi Room.

Chiang Rai has just about everything the rest of Thailand has. Just need to know where to look.

I agree Scead,an excellent recommendation.

Have a good holiday Kimomax

Best Wishes
