CAT Cuts Rates To 30 Countries

CAT cuts rates to 30 countries

CAT Telecom has reduced rates by 11-53% on Internet-based international calls to 30 countries.

Rates to the United States have been reduced from 16-14 baht to just eight baht per minute, while calls to Australia cost 12 baht, down from 16-18 baht. Other revised rates include seven baht a minute to Malaysia, 18 baht to Taiwan and 12 baht to Hong Kong.

Sompol Chanprasert, CAT Telecom's director of information and telecom services, said the Internet-based rate cuts were in addition to earlier reductions of international direct dialling (IDD) rates using the 001 code.

Internet-based rates are 10-25% lower than IDD rates. The eFONE service can be used on fixed-line and mobile phones by dialling 009. CAT PhoneNET is a prepaid card service.

Speaking of.. Where is the best place to get a calling card from Thailand to the US....

The CAT cards can be obtained at the Thailand Post (post office) or other designated retailers (business with CAT ad for phone cards). The rate for Thailand to USA is 9B a minute. No extra charge for pay phone use. This information is from the CAT Call Center as of Jan 6.

Can you point me to a Complete list please?
