I've been looking to craigslist thailand and noticed many affordable used cars all from Chiang Mai area. They have just one thing in common, all from dear farangs. I want to buy an automatic car for my wife but I don't want to start with a brand new car (She has no driving experience yet!). Why its so hard to find a decent car for the decent price in Bangkok? Thais must be nuts asking for thoose prices!

When I was doing price comparisons for used cars, I found prices from dealers about twenty five percent less in Bangkok than in Chiang Mai.

I can only see 6 listings for chiangmai on craigslist, and nothing that stands out as being a bargain: http://bangkok.craigslist.co.th/search/cta?query=chiang&srchType=A&minAsk=&maxAsk=

Can you show me any link or address that are selling under these prices? All I can find is overpriced 15-20 years old Toyota cars for > 160 - 190K baht.

130K for automatic opel corsa 1997 is a bargain in my terms.

And here's 1000 cars under 150K: http://one2car.com/search/search_result.aspx?Price1=10&Price2=150000

Craigslist is only used by foreigners, mainly only americanss (not even in Europeans), therefore you find only "farangs" who offer their cars on CL. I use sell cars on CL in Hawaii, but in LOS not poular at all, because it's only in english, not in Thai.
