Internet Medication

Featured Replies

Has anyone had prescription drugs shipped into Thailand from an Internet supplier, and if so, any problems?

Nothing fancy, just the usual old fart stuff for hypertension and prostrate!

This will be better off in the Health forum where similar questions have been asked as it is not CM specific.

My neighbor gets his shipped in from a relative with no problem, delivered to his house by the mailman. While it does not answer your question directly, it gives you a piece of info that might be useful?

Wouldn't it be cheaper and more convenient to buy them in Thailand?

Anti-hypertensive and prostate medication is readily available here.

In most cases the drugs in question will cost less to buy here than they would to ship them. And in most cases they are sold here without prescription.

If for some reason though you do need to order meds online the issues are:

1. Whether the drug in question is approved for use in Thailand and, if so, whether it is a controlled drug here

2. Quantities brought in - should be consistent with 30 days personal use

3. Customs duties - can be levied and may be considerable (although this is very erratic)

4. How shipped - Courier services run into more delays and customs issues than direct air mail

5. Whether the supplier will ship to Thailand at all, many of them won't

those are the Thailand specific issues. But you should also be aware that there are often quality issues (counterfeit etc) with drugs sold over the internet.

Thanks for the feedback.

Sounds like the best solution would be to bring a couple of months supply and sort out locally for the longer term.
