Change From Non-O To Tourist Visa

Featured Replies

I have a non-o visa for marriage now. I need to renew it soon, but will not be able to make the money requirements this year. If I try to get a tourist visa will they hassle me as to why I am getting a tourist visa this time? I was thinking of going to Vientiane, Laos to get a double entry visa.

Also, for a double entry visa, do they still require a plane ticket?

Or visit Vientiane for single non immigrant O visa and extend 60 days so each vise/extension would cover almost 5 months.

I think taht the only difference will be that you will be required to leave the country every 90 days. Walk across the border and back. If you have the finances, 400000 baht in the bank or 40000 baht per month, and apply for and extension in Thailand you can stay for the entire year without leaving the country. I think that's what you have now.

You can get a 60 day extension from immigration without hte need of showing finances. Based on your marriage you can get a multiple entry non-O in Savanakhet, Laos without the need to show finances.
