Department of Highways Director-General CHAISAWAD KITTIPHORNPHAIBOON (ชัยสวัสดิ์ กิตติพรไพบูลย์) revealed that the preliminary discussion between his department and the DON MUANG Tollway Public Company Limited has concluded. They have agreed to extend the period of collecting the 20-baht tollway fare from November 17th to December 17th, 2005.

Mr. CHAISAWAD has expressed his confidence that the DON MUANG Tollway problem will soon come to an end next month. He said both parties have also agreed to extend the concession to 25 years, and the tollway fare has been set to start at 20 baht.

Mr. CHAISAWAD added that the result of this discussion would be proposed to Transport Minister PONGSAK RAKTAPONGPAISAL (พงษ์ศักดิ์ รักตพงศ์ไพศาล) for further consideration. Meanwhile, the DON MUANG Tollway will propose the matter to the Ministry of Finance, in order to seek for assistance in restructuring the organization.
