I have noticed that there are now a few 'big taxis' land cruiser type things running around bangkok, does anyone know what number can be called to get one of these? 1661 couldn't help...

They are the Isuzu Adventure, not a bad car for a taxi, they'll go forever, run on diesel so maybe cheaper running costs, and have 7 seats so fit 20 Thais. Don't have a number though! sorry!

I hailed a "London taxi" last week unaware that they don't have meters and the driver was kind enough to let me pay what i normally do as he was on his way to the airport and so is my gaff.

I have a reliable friend with a Volvo.
