Tywais
Internet BitTorrent Spies Summary: Think no one knows what you’ve downloaded off the Internet with BitTorrent? Think again. People have privacy delusions about the Internet. They seem to think that just because they don’t sign their real name to a site that no one can see what they’ve been doing on it. Oh dear. So dumb, so wrong. The latest example of what you do on the Internet is no where near as “private” as you think it is comes from a new Russian site, YouHaveDownloaded. This site claims to track 20 percent of all public BitTorrent downloads… and tell the world who they’ve found downloading what. So, that final episode of Dexter? The DVD rip of Cowboys & Aliens? That copy of Call of Duty Modern Warfare? And, that illicit video of Smoking Hot Grannies that you really, really don’t want to talk about? Yeah, your permanent record of what you’ve been downloading off BitTorrent sites may all be available for the amusement of your friends, neighbors, and, oh yes, the copyright owners. Tywais
Just took a look. Since all our computers are behind a firewall it just uses the public IP of the server for all of them. However, interesting to see what the staff has been downloading - Korean Couple in Many Positions.wmv. At the top summary they tell you where you are located. Last comment in the summary: "Of course, we are sure that you didn’t violate any laws of Thailand and downloaded only legal stuff, right?"
RKASA
" Hi we have not records on you" well that is because I don't have a real connection to the internet that could even handle such a thing as a torrent by any means - I am on ToT (Totally out of Touch internet)

astral
Both utorrent and the sw on a seedbox will give you a list of who is accessing your torrents. Just click on the Peers button a the bottom of the screen............. The anti torrent brigade can easily log that info then trace back to your ISP or seedbox. If you read the small print for your seedbox it probably excludes use for copyright material.
dave111223
But there is a certain extent there privacy as there is no way to prove who (which person) was actually downloading the file... Who's to say it wasn't your Grandma who came over and was using your computer? Suppose you get a virus on your computer and someone uses your computer to as a proxy to download torrents... I mean i'm sure you could still get cut off by your ISP given any of the above defenses, but I'd imagine it would be very hard to bring legal action. PattayaParent
It's not completely accurate. I tried it through my company ISP and it lists downloads, including one I downloaded and I assume the rest are some co-workers. But when I tried it at home it doesn't find any, and I've been downloading a lot at home recently.

Correct, my reference to a seedbox was meant to address the primary topic of this thread, the website the OP references, which of course cannot correlate IP addresses through an ISP, seedbox and another ISP. If someone wanted to to go through the first ISP, the seedbox (shared among many users and dynamic IPs) then track that through to an FTP session and another ISP, then yes, they could. It may be easier to just go after that schmoe downloading "Nude Nuns with Big Guns" (Guns being firearms).
astral
OK I checked the web site and it shows all the stuff downloaded by other users on the IP address of my ISP I could not see any of my downloads listed at all. Mind you fascinating to see what is downloaded.
Pib
Whether the authorities prove or don't prove it was you or your visiting grandmother downloading the torrent/copy-righted file, they can still put you through hell in terms of legal activities/costs in reaching the guilty or not-guilty end result. It's a risk each person needs to decide on for himself.
siampolee
One should treat the site with caution. Remember that there is a large amount of porn distributed from Russia along with virus infections and Trojan horse programmes. I use a private tracker and a proxy server, I don't go in for porn either, so no worries for me.
manarak
doesn't work. I downloaded about 40 gigs of torrents in the past 15 days and I get the "we have no records on you" message.

This is Thailand and it would be no different than a speed camera getting your license plate number. It's your car and you pay the ticket regardless of who was driving the car.
